The Truth

You continue to chase the diminishing light with aching legs, your lungs burning from all the running. A ledge connected with your keen eyes, crawling onto all fours as you peeked over the edge. A mischievous goblin with creepily shimmering eyes was hunched over with a familiar looking jacket in its talon like claws, a high pitch cackle filling the air. 'Isn't that...' Your eyes narrowed in focus, examining the dimly lit jacket, the flashlight blinding your vision for a few seconds. That was the same jacket Noctis wore everyday. You leapt off the ledge, having to tilt your head downward at the shorter, nocturnal creature. It hissed dangerously, bursts of crystals dispersing around it, materialising into three or four more goblins.

"I see you've brought your friends to the party." You muttered, summoning forth a one-handed crossbow.

They all leaped towards you simultaneously, with their razor sharp claws readied to tear you to pieces. You side stepped their lousy timed attack, blasting a bolt into each of their skulls, all of them rolling back upon impact. They diminished into a cloud of black dust, leaving the teared jacket in their place. You scooped the jacket into your frigid fingers, silently praying the rest of the group was unharmed, wherever they were.

Noctis' P.O.V.
I grit my teeth in annoyance, another group of goblins magically appearing in front of us, their hues sparking dangerously. The four of us quickly defeated the group of goblins. I sigh deeply, seeing no sign of f-n anywhere.

"Where could she be?" Prompto questions, his composure filled with negativity.

"Don't worry Prompto, we'll find her sooner or later." Gladio says, trying to light up the mood.

"We should be getting a move on. We're wasting precious time that could be used to find her." Ignis says, advancing deeper into the cave.

I follow behind the group, my mind wandering elsewhere. Ever since we left for Altissia, I've experiencing a strange feeling that haunts me every night and morning. Something was bound to happen once I left my father at the front steps of the palace. His eyes seemed distant, remembering how his hand landed on my shoulder one last time before wishing me goodbye. How I wish to see my father, wishing I could feel his comforting hand on my shoulder once again. My thoughts were shattered as a loud shriek flooded my ears, gazing down the dark tunnel.

"f-n!" Prompto yells, his panicked voice rebounding through the ominous cave. A deafening silence was our only response. An audible, sharp inhale sounded through the cave, Prompto sprinting forward without any words.

"Prompto wait!" I yell out, stretching a hand towards his leaving figure.

"f-n could be in trouble!" Prompto screams over his shoulder. My eyes met unreadable ones, glancing towards Ignis with a troubled expression. He only dipped his head softly, following the fleeing blonde. Gladiolus only shrugged his shoulders in agreement, running alongside Ignis. I huffed in annoyance, shaking my head side to side. 'You better be alright...'

Third Person P.O.V.
The broadsword vanished from your grasp, your hands pressing against the frigid cave walls, barely managing to slip through a crack into another open space of the cave. From the endless walking and weaving through rubble, this cave seemed like a never-ending maze, blood thirsting, mythical creatures shrouded in the darkness at every turn, claws and teeth sharpened to trap you.

A quiet cackle of a wandering goblin gave away its ambush, tumbling face first onto the ground before leaping onto its bare feet, hurtling a sparkling batch of dust towards you. You tumbled onto your backside, its claws penetrating a deep wound into your back, eliciting a pain filled scream. You drove a dagger into its stomach, the monster vanishing into a thick cloud.
