Silence overflowed the room, no person able to mutter a word in the stiff atmosphere. A needle could have been dropped, having the capability to be heard.
"Forgive me. I have not upheld my duties of safeguarding the Lucii kingdom from enemy clutches. My brother was right there near that boarded airship, yet I could not bring myself to chase him." The Tenebraean princess murmured, her usually confident bluish eyes wavering as she averted her gaze towards her lap.
"Lunafreya, you don't need to say anything of forgiveness. All of us weren't expecting any of this to happen. I was under the control of that filthy mind control collar while all of you were busily making preparations for the wedding." You retorted, averting your half-lidded gaze elsewhere.
"Now what? Do we just wait and study Niflheim's next move?" Prompto questioned, almost sounding completely hopeless of the situation at hand. His gunner fingers continued to fiddle with deck of ace cards in his hand, shuffling them with quivering hands.
"We'll need all the energy we can store to take down the Imperials in one foul sweep. For now, we have to prepare for the worst." Gladiolus chided in addition, lowering his head to his chest.
"The worst? How could it possible become any more worse than it already is?" The Lucii prince questioned, his voice cracking midway through his statement.
"Niflheim has a vast multitude of weaponry in their arsenal. We must take multiple plans to truly break through their line of mechanical defenses. It seems highly impossible to initiate a coordinated attack without earning a few injuries." Ignis stated, bearing a great weight down onto your shoulders. Sinister memories flashed behind your squeezed eyelids, gnawing harshly into your lower lip trying to restrain the hot tears threatening to pour.
Goosebumps and shivers traveled all over your quivering forms, breaths growing more erratic with every excruciating movement passing with each second. Your hometown of Galahd was lit into a lake of flames, igniting the whole region into chaos and panic. Her slender fingers wrung around your forearm, cupping its twin over your mouth desperately trying to prevent your weak whimpers from giving away your hiding spot. The familiar clank of an Imperial soldier's footsteps was all it took to send your heart rate flying, tightening your grip on your protective sister's stomach.
You released a high pitched scream, cramming your hands over your ears as a metal embellished fist broke through the surface of the closet, it's soulless crimson eyes glaring back into yours. Its left arm raised forward, your ears perking at the ruthless click of the weapon built into its arm, a reddish orange miniature flame appearing at the barrel.
"f-n, run!" Your sister yelled, grappling onto the Magitek's arm willfully as you crawled out of the invaded closet.
You took one glance over your shoulder, before sprinting out of the hometown you grew up in. People bumped into you as they rushed in random directions. A few shoulder bumps sent you toppling backwards, crawling onto all fours over the sound of rapid fire assault rifles. Your hands muffled every last scream of agony and despair, squeezing your eyelids shut as you leaned against an untouched tree trunk.
"Your sibling died during the invasion of Galahd, didn't she?" Lunafreya questioned softly, wrapping a slender arm around your shoulders. You weakly nodded in response, gazing at her through thickly teared eyes.
"It was mentioned in one of the reports I skimmed over. I recall one of the many names labeled dead with your last name. I offer you my solemn prayers f-n." She said with genuine concern, cradling your head into her chest as you released a series of whimpers.

The stars shined brightly above in the black sky as you leaned on the balcony railing, gazing back at the dark abyss hovering over you. Your fingers absent mindedly trailed against the metal chain loosely hanging from your neck. Your fingers soon grazed the heart shaped locket hidden underneath your shirt. The small pendant flicked open, revealing a gray scaled picture of your sister beaming brightly.
