Dark thunderous clouds loomed over the Regalia and trotting chocobo, buckets of natural water flushed downward onto your head. Your hair clung to the curves of your head as you performed a short sneeze spasm. Your head throbbed despite the freezing droplets of rain cascading across your forehead. His cobalt irises examined your figure worriedly, clutching at his thigh.
"Specs, anywhere can we go to stay till the shower passes?" Noctis asks, leaning forward in his seat.
"Afraid not. The nearest hotel is a few more miles ahead. It may take a half hour to arrive there." Ignis answered, disappointing the Lucian prince.
"She's going to get sick from the rain." Iris mutters under her breath, but loud enough for Noctis to hear her.
He gazes outside, seeing you wipe away your wet locks back with your hand."Are you sure?" He asks again.
"Yes your Highness. If there was one nearby, we would have already arrived there." Ignis replies.
Noctis sighs deeply, leaning back into the cushioned, leather seat. Meanwhile, you were drenched in the cold rain, drops of water dripping off your eyelashes. You didn't care if you would become ill. The war was destroying people's lives, you wanted it to end immediately. Noctis' head laid uncomfortably against the window, watching rain droplets cascade down the window, hoping the storm would cease. He gazes at you discreetly through worried eyes. Hopefully, you had a strong immune system because you would most likely have a cold by the next day.
Time Skip
A few sluggish hours passed until you arrived at the warming hotel, your clothes dripping with water onto the blue carpet rolled across the marble floor. You hoisted yourself off your chocobo suddenly feeling unstable in your knees, falling forward. Your arms automatically latched around someone's neck to prevent yourself from falling."C-Cold..." You muttered against his shoulder, fluttering your eyes shut in defeat.
"f-n! f-n! Wake up please!" Noctis called out desperately. So he was the one who caught you.
"What's wrong Noct!" Prompto screamed out as he sprinted towards the panicked ravenette.
Noctis allowed his hands to trace the underneath of your shirt, his eyes widening in reaction to how boiling warm your skin was.
"She's really hot." He mutters, gazing at your unconscious face.
"Noct, this is not the time for flirting! Iggy!" Prompto replies, shrieking the adviser's name. Noctis rolls his eyes at his best friend's reaction, focusing all of his attention on your limp figure.
"What is it you two?" Ignis asked, strolling up to them.
"It's f-n. I think she is sick. She's not waking up and her skin is boiling hot." Noctis answers. Ignis presses a hand against your forehead, searching for a fever.
"Your suspicions are correct Noctis. She appears to have a mild fever. Quickly, we must bring her up to the hotel room." Ignis states, bringing out a key.
"Here Noctis, our room number is 30." Ignis passes a single set of keys to Noctis.
He nodded softly in response as he looped an arm tightly your waist. Your bodies diminished into thin blue crystals, warping to the designated room. He twisted the doornob clockwise, gently kicking the door wide open. He brought his arms underneath your legs, hoisting you bridal style towards the neatly prepared bed awaiting to be used. Your hands scrunched the bed sheets underneath you, breathing heavily in pain. A cold cloth was pressured against your head to battle your fever.
"N-Noct, I'm sorry for being so weak..." You whisper softly, tracing his fingers sunk into the comforter.
"f-n, you're not weak. You just became sick, that's all." Noctis replied, lacing your hand with his.
