Noctis and you snuck through the unlocked balcony, slowly creaking the double doors open. The two of you quickly scanned the room for any Magitek scouts. Thankfully, the room was completely clear. Noctis shuffled through the nearby desk drawers, throwing random papers and envelopes over his shoulder. You crouched, picking up a nearby envelope, reading the letter inside.

Hi Noctis! I'm glad that you're still answering my letters. I just received a new puppy from Gentiana. What should I name her? I was thinking Pyrna. What do you think I should call her?

The letter seemed wrinkled and crumpled, but the penmanship of the person was very neat. You felt your shoulders lower, realizing it was received letter from Luna.

"f-n, help me look for a brown covered book." You walked next to him, pushing away loads of written papers and books in the drawer. You scanned the books on a wooden shelf, skimming over the front cover. Many of them were based on politics and reports on Lucis. You sighed, unable to locate the specific book Noctis was looking for. While walking around with a dissapointed expression, your foot accidentally nudges a discarded book laying beside the shelf. You picked it up, flipping it over in your hands to the front cover.

"Noct, is this it?" You stuck out the journal towards him.

"Yeah. That's the one." He quickly turns to the last page of the book, reading the fine print.

"Why do you need it anyways?" You asked, crossing your arms with a puzzled expression.

"When I was younger, I used to keep secret notes from my dad in this journal, thinking it would somehow help me in the future." He replied. You looked over his shoulder, reading over the paper.

"Bingo. I know where it is." He snaps his fingers, throwing the book towards the bed.

He grabs your hand tightly, pulling you towards the nearly endless halls of the palace. The two of you ended up in front of a metal door, a hole engraved in the center. Noctis summoned a royal arm sword passed by his forefathers, placing the blade in the socket. The door rumbled before sliding upwards, revealing a stairway. His fingers laced with yours as you stepped down the nearly pitch dark tunnel.

A layer of water covered the ground, metal panels encircled in the middle of the room. The huge room was only lit by the dim spotlights hanging above the panels, where the crystal was housed.

"Well well, if it isn't the prince and his mistress." A deep voice echoed through the room. Both of you materialized a sword out of thin air, eyes darting everywhere for the source of the voice. A man dressed in a white cloak approached the two of you, his hood concealing his identity. Noctis stood in front of you, his eyes glowing crimson red.

"What the hell do you want?" Noctis growled out, tightening the grip on the hilt of his engine sword.

"The crystal that's what. It took me few hours, thankfully you kept that handy journal of yours." The man replied with a devious smirk.

"Plus, the ownership of that crystal shall soon be in our hands. It would be better if you'd give up." He commented, walking slowly around the two of you.

"Give up? In your stupid dreams." You replied, studying every move the mysterious male made.

"It's time to take revenge for my mother's death, Luna' mother." He states, throwing back his hood, revealing his features. He had a mix of blonde-white hair and a chiseled face. His blue eyes held a deep hatred and no remorse.

"Your father could have saved my mother!" He snarled, glaring daggers into Noctis.

"But no, he had to flee since you were completely helpless in your wheelchair when it happened."
