*Kyler*
"Lady Aphmau, there's troops heading for our gate," Dante panted as he ran into her house
"Who's troops?" She asked grabbing her sword
"Hila." He said and my eyes widened
"Let's go, Aphmau get everyone to a safe spot, I'll go get Garroth," I said and she nodded.
I ran down to the guards tower, Dante by my side.
"Go hold them off for now." I said to him and he nodded
"Garroth, Laurence, there's Hila troops at our gates!" I yelled up and almost immediately Garroth came down
"What's our plan?" He asked me
"That's up to you. I don't know how many there are, Dante warned us," I said
"Let's go, Laurence get the rest of the guards." He said and Laurence nodded.
We began running towards the gates. I could see them from the other side. Dante kept the gate closed.
"Wait- Kyle!" Garroth said turning around
"He's safe Gar, Aphmau took everyone to a safe place," I assured him
"Why are you here?!" I called down from the wall after climbing up
"We wish to speak to your lord!" A guard in front called
"Why?" Garroth yelled down
"Are you the lord? Because you look like a guard to me," he said
"Kyler go get Aphmau," Garroth said
"You need to pretend to be her, go take your armor off behind the wall and come back up," he whispered as I climbed down and I nodded.
I hid behind the wall and striped my armor off. I then sighed and took the scarf off as well.
I then climbed back up. I stood tall and Garroth bowed to me a little.
"You wish to speak with me?" I asked down
"No. We wish to kill you," the one guard yelled and before I could moved an arrow flew at me
"KYLER!" Dante yelled as I fell backwards and landed on the hard ground below the wall.
I closed my eyes and put my hand on the arrow that was in my stomach. I quickly pulled it out and winced in pain.
I opened my eyes again and sat up. The wound quickly healed itself but a huge scar was left in its place.
I sighed and put my armor back on and the troops began trying to break through the walls.
Laurence and the rest of the guards soon came and began fighting back. I climbed back on the wall.
"What?! Kyler you just got hit with an arrow!" Garroth said shocked as he shot someone on the ground
"I know. I'm fine." I said
"why are you still fighting fools?! We killed your Lord!" A solider screamed
"No! You didn't! You shot me! Which was a huge mistake!" I screamed back.
*Dante*
She screamed back at them before her eyes turned to the glowing black they did a few nights ago.
She started floating. Her body rose up and black orbs floated in her hands.
A few of the Hila guards stumbled backwards as others aimed their bows at her.
She raised her right arm up and threw one of the orbs down. With a big explosion and a lot of dust half the troops were down.
Their bodies laid on the ground. The rest retreated and ran off into the forest.
*Kyler*
"K- Kyler?" a voice stuttered and I knew I messed up.
Why can't I control myself?!
"I- I'm sorry," I said as I fell.
I landed on my knees in the dirt. My head hung down.
"Kyler," Laurence said crouching next to me and I looked up at him
"There's no need to be sorry. We couldn't hold off all those troops, you saved us," he smiled
"With magic! I hate these powers! I can't control them. They're evil Laurence, I don't want to hurt people," I cried into his chest after he helped me up
"Hey, that wasn't evil. It takes time, we'll help you learn to control them," he assured.
___
I sat cross crossed on one of the guard tower beds. I was fiddling with my fingers.
"Kyler," Dante asked coming up and I turned my head to him
"Are you okay?" He asked
"I'm fine," I replied looking back down at my hands
"The way you looked back there, your eyes were glowing black, it wasn't you was it?" He asked sitting on the bed next to me
"No, it wasn't. I can't control it." I said
"You looked that way the other night but after you saw that I was hurt you turned back," he said
"I- I know," I nodded looking back up at him
"Why?" He asked
"I don't know! Maybe it's just the way I feel about you! Even when I hate you I still love you! Every time I look into your blue eyes it just calms me down, I don't know how else to explain it. You're- you're my symbol of peace, when I'm with you, i feel safe, I'm home." I said my eyes tearing up
"I'm so sorry Kyler," he said hugging me as tears began to slide down my cheeks
"I'm sorry for leaving," I said
"No. Don't be. It's my time to apologize, I made a huge mistake. I love you and only you." He said pulling away and looking Into my eyes.
I sighed and stared at him. His blue eyes piercing my soul.
He began to lean in for a kiss. As he got close I gently pushed him away.
"I- I just need time." I sighed again before standing up and leaving the tower.
