Chapter Two

*Dante*

I wiped the sweat from my forehead as we reached Kyler's coffin.

I set down the shovel and helped Laurence open it.

"There's no necklace here..." He said
"How is she not a skeleton yet?" I looked at the pale body confused
"Wait, Dante... Look," he said lifting up the armor
"What?" I asked
"Aren't these the clothes she was wearing when she defeated Zenix," he said
"Can't she wear clothes more than once?" I laughed a bit
"Not ones her immortal body died in," he said
"Wait," my eyes widened as I looked at her
"This isn't Kyler's real body. This is the one she left when she banished Zenix to a different realm." He said
"We have to tell Aphmau-" He cut me off
"No, we can't tell anyone. We're going to look for Kyler and get some answers on why she fake died," He said
"You can't leave Laurence, you need to stay here. Let me go and try and find her. We'll tell Aphmau I'm going to find my brother." I said
"But she's my sister, my only family member left," he said
"I know, but you need to stay here. You are the second guard in command, you need to be here if anything happens," I said putting my hand on his shoulder
"Okay," he sighed and nodded
"I'll bring her back to you Laurence, I promise," I said looking at him
"I know you will," he smiled a bit.

"Good luck finding you're brother!" Aphmau waved as I got on my horse
"Thanks! I'll be back soon," I smiled
"Be safe!" She called as I rode away.

I'm coming for you Kyler.

I gripped the small bracelet Laurence had given me to help find her.

Hopefully the glowing would get brighter when I got closer.

I made a small camp between a few trees. I had been riding all day.

It was dark now and I was super tired. I could barely keep my eyes open any longer.

My horse was tied up to a tree and I laid on the soft grass.

I woke up to a swooping noise. Like wings flying by.

I sat up and looked around. My vision was a bit blurry from just waking up.

I rubbed my eyes. When I put my arms down I saw a dark figure run behind a tree.

I stood up and grabbed my sword. The sun was slowly coming up.

I quietly walked closer to the tree until I was on one side of if.

I quickly jumped to the other side with my sword ready to slice. But nothing was there.

I looked around confused. What is going on.

Out of the corner of my eye I saw the figure run again. I spun around while holding my sword up.

"Who's there?!" I yelled and it was silent.

"I won't hurt you, just identify yourself," I said looking around.

Again, out of the corner of my eye the figure ran. It ran away.

I quickly grabbed my things and got on my horse. I chased after the being.

I went in the same direction it ran. I couldn't see it anymore but I kept going.

I looked down to see the bracelet a bright glowing red.

"Please don't be playing tricks on me," I sighed at the bracelet as I kept riding.

I slowed down as I came to a small village. There were merchant stand around and a few people walking  around.

I got off my horse and tied it to a tree. I slipped the bracelet around my wrist.

I cautiously entered the town. It was a quiet place.

I looked at everyone carefully, studying their features. I needed to find Kyler.

"Excuse me sir, where is your lord?" I asked a man
"She's always in that house up there, she never leaves. Good luck trying to talk to her," he shrugged before walking away.

I looked at the small house on the top of a hill. I made my way over to it.

The bracelet was now glowing very strongly. With hope I knocked on the door.

It creeped open a big. A man in guards armor stared at me.

"Hello, I wish to speak with the lord of this village," I said and he still didn't move
"Hello?" I asked confused before he shut the door.

I groaned and turned around. If I can't speak to her I'll never know if Kyler is actually here.

"Please, I need to find my friend. She's been missing for over a year and I need to know if she lives here," I said loosing hope.

There was no noise. I turned away from the door just in time to see the dark figure run past me.

My eyes widened and I sharply turned my head. I ran after the figure.

It ran into the nearby forest. I kept running trying to catch it. My legs burned but I wasn't gonna stop now.

As I was running I didn't notice that the figure had stopped until I looked up.

Whoever they were was turned around and standing completely still. I stopped running and slowly approached the figure.

I got close enough to touch them. As I lifted my arm to place it on they're shoulder and spin around they didn't for me.

The figure was wearing a black cloak. They were looking at the ground so that I couldn't see their face.

"W-who are you?" I asked.

The figure was shorter than me. But it reached out its arm and lifted mine up.

It examined the glowing red bracelet on my wrist. For a split second the figures cloak showed a bit of its arm.

A familiar leather bracelet showed but quickly disappeared when the arm pulled back.

"I think you know who I am," an all to familiar voice said.

I stepped back. I couldn't speak. My mind was filled with too many emotions.
