Chapter Eleven

*Garroth*

I couldn't think fast enough. Laurence looked to me frantically.

"Garroth, I'm sure you won't miss your friend too much, she'll be back once we're done with her," he smiled as he turned to walk away
"What are you doing with her?" I asked trying to walk forward, a guard came up and put his sword to my neck
"That's none of your business, stay out of it and I won't hurt anyone else," he chuckled before getting back on his horse.

Another guard walked up and picked up Kyler's body. As Garte started riding away his guards followed.

"I'm not letting him take her," Laurence said running towards the gate
"Laurence, they'll kill you," I said grabbing his arm
"What if they hurt her?" He asked worriedly
"She's strong," I closed my eyes and sighed
"Where's Kyler?" Dante asked jogging up to us and looking around confused
"Dante-" I sighed
"Where is she?" He demanded
"They took her." I said looking down
"You let them take her?!" He yelled
"We were out numbered," Laurence defended
"Why did she turn into whatever she is?! She can handle herself," he asked
"She let her guard down," I said
"Why?! Who calmed her?!" He asked clearly distraught
"Me," I said quietly and he looked hurt
"Of course it was you. It's always been you hasn't it? She chose you that day in the tower, didn't she?" He asked stepping back
"Dante no- it's nothing like that-" he cut me off
"Then what is it? Because Kyler doesn't let her guard down. It's not something that comes easy to her, she's only ever done it for me," his voice shaky
"Dante, I'm her best friend. Nothing more, you know this, I have Aphmau. If I could've stopped them I would have," I raised my voice
"I- just need-" he stuttered before he sighed and turned to leave
"Don't do anything stupid.. Please," I said desperately.

He chuckled a bit. He turned back towards me and stared me right in the eyes.

"The only thing that I did that was stupid, was believing that she actually didn't kiss you up in that tower," he spat before turning back and walking off.

*Kyler*

I woke up on a cold, hard, floor. My head was pounding.

"Good morning," Garte's horrible smile greeted me
"Where am I?" I question
"Don't worry princess, you'll be fine," he said
"Don't- call me princess," I snapped
"Oh I'm so sorry, would you rather your majesty," he asked innocently
"What?" I asked taken back
"Well you are Lady Shadows grand daughter, correct?" He asked
"Grand daughter?" I stuttered
"Haha, that's right, I killed your grandma and your mother before you even knew them," he smiled, my face dropping
"What do you want with me?" I growled
"Oh nothing, just your powers," he smiled
"You can't take my powers, that's impossible," I said confused
"Not impossible, it just hasn't been done before," he smiled evily
"What's that supposed to mean?" I asked shakily
"It means we're going to do a series of tests to try and extract your powers from you, then we'll no longer need you," he said
"What if I don't want to give you my powers?" I said defensively
"Oh princess you have no choice," he chuckled
"Don't. Call. Me. Princess." I growled again
"Haha, get some rest princess, you'll need it," he winked before leaving.

I looked down at the bracelet on my arm. A small tube was connected to it.

I tried ripping it off but it wouldn't budge. It was painful.

"What is this?" I yelled
"Hello Miss Kyler, I'll be your doctor here, that's a special bracelet made by our scientists, they are hoping it'll just suck the powers right out of you," a man smiled through the door
"W-what?" I asked my eyes widening
"Oh and it stops your powers from working so you don't kill us," he chuckled.

I stepped backwards in the damp room. I slid down the wall and put my head in my knees.

I began crying. How could I have let this happen? I shouldn't have let my guard down.

*Garroth*

"Garroth we don't have that many troops," Aphmau sighed
"We need to find her." I shouted
"Garroth, you heard your dad, he'll bring her back," Laurence placed his hand on my arm
"In what condition? Dead? Insane? Sick?" I sighed
"All we can do is hope," Aphmau said as I sat down.

This is all my fault. What if she's never coming back?
