" 7 siblings huh, sounds fun." I said bringing a glass up to my lips. I could tell my eyes were glowing from the reflection in the glass. It caught me off guard.
" super fun." He chuckled sarcastically. "You wouldn't know, your an only child." Tone suddenly darker.
" your kidding me right!"he sat up right atenitively.
" I have to deal with Ricky and charlie. You know lately Ricky has been stealing my socks. But of coarse da won't believe me. And charlie has always been his favorite." I complained. He began to laugh so hard that he began to snort. Which made me laugh to.
" ahhhh good times good times." That made me laugh even harder. The day went on like that. Talking, and running our mouths back and fourth. Like old friends.
Before we knew it the sun was setting. I caught glimpse of the falling star, and sighed.
"my dad will get here pretty soon. I probably should walk you home now. "
" alright " he got up reluctantly. We began the treck back threw the woods. The leaves fell around us. I could feel the life surging threw the air, and threw the ground. I let my skin soak in the red toned light. " wow " said wen cocking his head at me.
"What" I said. I felt a quick drop.
" just a second ago, you were floating. Your skin was made of crystals. You were like a prism, shooting light in every direction."
" oh, I didn't even realize it." I said moving my bare feet against the earth once more.
" I don't think I'll ever get tired of how cool that is." He smirked.
" what "
" just what you can do, and how different you are."
My cheeks burned. " well here we are." He stated showcasing his apartment complex. He smiled broadly. The complex was shabby, moss covered its sides, The windows were bared. It leaned dangerously to the left.
" outstanding piece of architecture! " I yelled.
" its a piece alright. " he smirked. The falling light cascaded off his glasses. His freckles sparkled like glitter.
" till tomorrow " I said grasping his hand.
" till...." THUD. A apartment door slammed opened.
" where the flying shit have you been?!" Screamed a banshee woman. Holding a crying child. She stood there in a pink bathrobe. A green cream smothered her scowering face. She breathed out of her mouth like a neanderthal. Curlers ran threw her falsely bleached hair. Little kids tugged at her robe from behind her. She was only what I could assume was wens mother.
" I can't do everything on my own! I need you older kids to help out! I have to stay here all day and slave away with these children. While your father sleeps at work. And you know what I'm tierd of it so...." She scratched her head trying to remember her own child's name. She took a sip of wine. "George! Get in here right now!" She seethed. Wen rolled his eyes.
" I'm wen Mama " he stated politely.
" do I look like I give a hoot?" She continued, to chug down more wine straight out of the bottle.
Wen turned towards me our hands were still intertwined.
" tomorrow." He said softly loostening his grip. He gently pulled away. His mom greeted him with a sharp elbow to the ribs and handed over the child she carried in her arms. She lifted her head slid more wine down her throat, then stomped off inside. Wen lingered at the door. He smiled goofily at me and waved. I smiled and waved back.
What have I gotten myself into.
