That was a weird night, yet enjoyable night. Soon to be followed by a even more weird and even more enjoyable day.
The girls went to Cassy's and I stayed home.
I had made friends. I had made lagitament friends. I was stupid to allow myself to but... It just felt right to be surrounded by people who seemed to care that were my own age.
So I decided to work with what I was given. I got up early that Saturday, put on a pair of cargo pants and a gray sweat shirt, then out the door I went. I left my father a note even though I'd be back by the time he'd wake up which was around eight a clock (at night). I ran out the door and threw the woods forgetting my binding shoes that I hated so very much. Applying my basic mascara and blush of coarse though.
I arrived at Cassy's condo at promptly 10 am. I took a second to breath and take in the world around me. It was odd seeing so many houses that were the same.
Before I had the chance to answer the forest green door swung open. I jumped Sending me back tumbling off the deck.
" oh my god are you OK! " Cassy yelled hurrying over to the bushes I was now entangled in.
I laughed, scrambling to free myself.
Fae appeared out of the door way. She wore a little light pink dress with black lace. With her favorite striped tights. To top it off her curly platinum hair was smoothly fashioned into a queen worthy bun. We were both taken back by her bizarre beauty.
" are we ready to go?" She said more sweetly than powdered sugar.
" go where?" Cassy said running her fingers threw that beloved Bob cut of hers.
" why to see Shane and josh of coarse!" She said as if it was obvious.
" how did you know that's were I was going to take you?" I said as I picked a branch off my shirt.
She shrugged and began to skip across the sidewalk.
I wonder if I'm not the only one here with a weird talent.
We followed her down the neighbor hood streets, passing stores and house after house. We arrived at the boys house. Picked them up and began to walk into the woods wear we would hang out and do things I could only assume friend's do.
Josh still had not breathed a word.
" so what did you guys talk about after we left?" Shane said rummaging threw a pile of sticks, looking for ones just right for a tree fort.
" eh...nothing really just stuff." I said hauling a log with ease.
" dang how much can you lift sparky?" Shane said admiring my strength.
Fire starter had been his little pet name for ever since the day I lite homework assignment on fire in 7th grade. They thought I used a match to lite it because I had a maverick personality type that was not being handled right in that setting. While this was true. There was no match. Shane knew me to well back then he knew there was no match and he knew something was up. That was the day I told him, I had forgotten Shane knew about me, he didn't know the full story he only knew about my pyro kanisis. Shane is a simple creature and he was fine with explation of, 'I'm a mutant' which isn't entirely false.
" more than you" I bantered.
Josh sat on the earth. Hands in pockets head hung low.
" hey josh you know what you need!" Shane said excitedly! " you need to get yourself a girl!"
Josh looked up in sorrow. As if salt was being rubbed in a wound. His eyes flickered towards me.
" a different girl" Shane said out of the corner of his mouth. Rolling his baby blue eyes.
" what if we got him a girl!" Cassy said jumping at the chance for her gossip skills to go to good use.
" that is a great idea!" Shane replied smiling so much his dark freckles collided. " come on every buddy let's go get josh a woman!"
