soft

-mingyu ;

After coming out to Wonwoo, everything felt lighter. I could laugh easier, I made more jokes, I let myself feel free. I was steady. I had a job, a house, and a bestfriend that made everything so much brighter. Plus, the gash on my side is basically healed up. A scar is left as a reminder but it doesn't hurt anymore. The memories still sting, but Wonwoo always helps with those.

As it turns out, Wonwoo is gay too. We both decided that it was time for me to come out to our friends as well, because they are all flaming homosexuals so they wouldn't judge me. They were all surprised and then Jeonghan said, "Now look at us, all super gay. I'm really surprised that you are though, Mingyu. I thought Wonwoo would be the only gay one that seems straight but now we have you."

I totally freaked out and may have hit Wonwoo in the face because I was mad that he didn't tell me. But after that, internally I was still freaking out. My crush is gay? How amazing is that?

"Mingyu, quit daydreaming or I will fire you." Jihoon threatens as he finishes producing a song he has been working on. His eyesmile and laugh shows he is joking but I listen and start cleaning up to leave for my lunch.

"Hey, I'm going to the café for lunch. You wanna come?" I ask the short boy. He shakes his head and mutters something about being busy so I just shrug and leave. He's always busy.

I head to the café, waving at Seokmin as I see him on the sidewalk. "You going to see Wonwoo?" Seokmin asks with a knowing smile. I scoff and hit him, rolling my eyes at how he can always see right through me.

"Shut up! Are you hoping that Jisoo will be there?" I stick my tongue out at him and watch him get flustered.

"What are you talking about? I don't like Jisoo, I only just met him a few days ago. Plus, he isn't gay because he's a Christian. Keep up, Mingyu." I just laugh at him and walk into the familiar shop. I head straight to the counter where Wonwoo is waving me over.

"Hey stranger, can I get you anything? You look like you've been working hard." Wonwoo jokes as I slouch against the counter to talk to him.

"You have no idea. Jihoon wasn't kidding when he said that the equipment was heavy. Good thing I'm hella strong," I flex my muscles and smirk, "Or else poor Jihoon would be carrying that equipment all by his little self."

"Slow down there Superman," Wonwoo laughs which causes my stomach to tie in knots because his laugh is just so beautiful, "I'll give you some money to go get us some sandwiches down at the deli. I'm starving."

"Hey, I have a job now. I can pay." I smile proudly, watching him raise his eyebrows at me. He waves me off and tells me to hurry. I yell goodbye and start my trek to the deli. The deli is right in between the karaoke place and Junhui's gallery. Ever since Minghao officially had a conversation with Junhui, they hit it off. They haven't gone on a date yet because both of them are to shy to ask each other. They haven't even confessed their feelings yet but I don't doubt that it will happen soon.

I open the doors and walk in to the cool building. I already know what I want to order so I walk up to the counter. 'Thank goodness it isn't busy today.' I think as I am the only one in line.

"Hey Chan, I would like the usual please. But today, Wonwoo wants a bag of chips with his." I say to the worker, his cute small face always in a smile.

"Of course, Mingyu. Coming right up. And how is Wonwoo, I haven't seen him in a few days."

"He's always busy. He's been bumped up to manager now so he works a lot more, but it's okay. I love hanging out at the café with everyone." I smile at the small boy in front of me that I've been getting to know these past few weeks. He's so innocent and you just want to protect him. He talks in the cutest Korean you will ever hear and he has a huge obsession with an American artist that I forgot the name of. It's something with Jackson, I think. He would be the perfect addition to our group!

"Hey also, Wonwoo, Seokmin, Minghao, Seungchoul, Jeonghan, Jihoon, Soonyoung, Jisoo, and I are going to do karaoke tonight if you would like to join. The more the merrier, right?" I ask him excitedly.

"Oh wow, that would be great! Can I bring my friend, Jun? He loves karaoke!" Chan's smile on his face almost makes me want to burst out in tears of happiness.

"Of course! Also bring Vernon and Seungkwan! We want everyone we know to be there." I say to Chan as he hands me the food. I tell him the time and where to meet as I pay.

"Goodbye Chan, see you tonight!" I wave as I walk out the door. I make my way back to the café and straight to the corner seat booth that I have officially reserved as mine. Wonwoo joins me and we eat as well as talking about tonight and what we would wear. We joke around and laugh at our friends who join us every few minutes.

"Do these seats feel weird to you? They don't feel like normal booth seats. " Wonwoo asks after Jeonghan leaves to tend to a customer.

"What's so different about the seating that you've been sitting on with me for the past three months?" I ask him comically. He's so random sometimes.

"Oh, I guess they are just really soft, like you." Wonwoo says, then cleans up his mess and gets back to work. I am still in shock of him just complimenting me like that. It's natural for him to do it yet it still gets my heart beating 100 miles per minute every time. I finally get a hold of myself and head back to work, making sure to tell Minghao about Jun coming to our karaoke night.

But even as I'm back at work, busying myself with the equipment and clients, I still can't get what he said out of my mind.

"They are just really soft, like you."
