Chapter Nine - I Can't.

No! She's not gone! Lottie's okay, she at my apartment, with Dan laughing a joking and going through stupid tumblr tweets. I ran out to the parking lot and before I even made it to my car, I collapsed. I put my head on the floor and screamed out. I felt a pain in my leg but I ignored it. I just wanted to hear the childish laugh once more. She's not just my best friend, She was like my sister. I felt so guilty now. Why did we fight? It was over something so childish it's untrue! I put my forehead on the floor and screamed out,
"You Bastard! You fucking Bastard!" I can hear people running out of the office. I recognise Rays voice and he's asking what's happened.
"Shit!" It's Barbra. "Oh Casey I'm so sorry!" I can hear her running across the car park. She knees down next to me and helps me up. I feel numb. The most I can do is move on to my knees. Barbra was kneeling next to me and I gave her a massive hug. She started to stroke my back and say that it will be okay.
"She was my best friend Barbs. I just... She was my everything and now she's gone! I just-"
She helped me stand up and the pain in my leg returned. I looked at my leg and I saw that a piece of glass had gone into my leg. I limped back into the building and sat down in the AH office. I saw Michael tell Lindsey what happened and she just gasped and ran over to me.
"Oh y god Casey I am so sorry I didn't realise." She had started to cry. Gavin came over with a drink and some tissue to help clean up my leg. He sat down next to me and handed me the drink. I drank it and then Barbs said that if I need someone to talk to, that's she's there for me. After the others left, it was just Gavin, Ray, Michael and I in the office. Geoff, Jack and Ryan and gone to meet Dan as see if he was okay. When I had calmed down. I mustered to courage to say
"I wanna see her."
Gavin put his arms around me and I put my head in his neck.
"Are you sure Case?" Ray asked,
I nodded and then wiped my eyes.
"I-I wanna say I-I'm s-sorry" was all I could muster before I started to cry again. Gavin gave me a hug and I buried my face in his neck. He started to rock back an forth, stroking my hair.
"Okay then. I'll get Dan to meet us there. Do you want to read the speech?"
I nodded and asked if she's able to speak,
"Yea, if she's awake." I stood up and went to grab my car keys when Michael said that he would drive us there.
The journey there cheered me up. Ray asked me questions about Charlotte and I told him stories from out school days.
"It was year 3, I think, and she said she wasn't feeling well." I started. "She kept telling me she was going to be sick and when she stood up to go the the teacher. She threw up and the teacher caught it in her hand. I still tease her about that to this day!"
We all laugh and then I remember the times at conventions we had.
"Hey, Michael!" He looked in the rear view mirror, "remember the girls that came up to you 3 years ago at Comic Con, dressed as Mogar and Creeper!" He nodded. "Charlotte was the creeper! Before I had been the creeper and she had been Mogar but this time we changed it because we would get to meet you! She didn't stop fan girling for weeks!" I smile at the memory and at that point Michael spoke up, in a sombre tone.
"We're here."
I took in a breath and walked out the car. Gavin grabbed my hand and Ray put his arm around me. Ray is like that guy that Is like your brother, that cares for you and looks after you but Michael is like your brothers best friend. That guy that you know well and chat with and care for. Then Gavin, He's that guy that I love and I wanna spend every day of my life with. When we walked in, I nearly broke down again, the only thing that kept me going was know that Charlotte was going to kill me if I walked in crying. We saw Dan come over with the others. He was in a wheel chairs. He broke his knee. We walked over to the cafeteria and had a drink. Dan told us everything. What happened on the plane and what Charlotte was saying.
"Casey," he said, I had been staring at the table for a while with my cup of tea in my hand. I looked up and went 'Hm?!'
"Do you wanna see her?"
I nodded. He said that he would show me the way and that he wanted to talk to me alone. We left and I got behind Dan and pushed him down the corridors. He laughed and I pushed him at high speeds.
When we got nearer to her room, he took over steering and said,"Casey, I'm so sorry!"
"Don't be Dan! It's not your fault." I sounded happier. I'm not sure where all of this happiness has come from. That the power of Charlotte. No matter what happened, she could always make you feel better!
"She's still alive so don't go beating yourself up. Okay?! That's my job!" He laughed and then stopped outside a door.
"This is it. Do you want me t-"
"No. I'm going to go on my own."
He nodded and then pulled me down to his level.
"Don't do something idiotic!" I smiled and then opened the door and saw her.

She was sat up on the bed but it was with support of it. She had he leg up in a sling and tubes coming out of her in all places. She had an oxygen mask on but when she saw me she took it off. Tears where welling up in my eyes now. She gave me 'the look' and I dried my
eyes. I sat at the side of the bed an said,
"Hi!" My voice quieter than normal. She smiled and said, as if nothing happened
"Hi, what with the hair?"
I smiled and ran my hand through it,
"Like it? I did that yesterday."
She rolled her eyes and asked who I got in a fight with,
"Lindsey..."
"Over?"
"The boys..."
She shakes her head and I put my hands up.
"So... Are you and Gavin..." She starts,
"Woah!" I interrupt. "First things first... You and Dan..."
She sheepishly smiled,
"Hey, we always wished that we had the slo mo guys!" I burst out laughing and then said,
"remember the deals we made at primary? That if I was ever hit on by a ugly guy,"
"I would be your lesbian lover!"
We started chatting about our old days, Primary school, when I moved to Bedford and then when we had calmed down I said,
"I can't Charlotte, You know I can't, you're my little sister."
She widened her eyes,
"LITTLE?! Dude, I'm older by just under 4 months!"
I rolled my eyes and continued,
"I love you Lottie and you know that I can't lose you. Not like this! If I ever had a kid, I was going to move back to Sleaford for 3 years so that my child knew her Aunty Lottie! It was what we've had planned since Year 7! I left for Uni, moved to America and when I had my child, move back to the Uk!"
"Case, I know what you're saying but I was told that I could never recover! I'm paralyzed. The only pit of my body I can move is my arms and my neck, and with my arms... I can't move my shoulders. What's the point of putting me through so many surgeries and yet I will still be here, in a hospital bed!"
"You won't! When you get out, I'll move back to Sleaford, I'll take back the ownership for the House in Holdingham, get it redone for you and-"
My voice broke and I started to cry. I felt a hand on my shoulder, but it wasn't Charlottes. I wiped my eyes and looked to see who it was. It was Gavin. He sat down on the chair and I sat, crossed legged at the end of the bed.
Gavin said to Charlotte,
"Did she tell you that she was in hospital last week?"
"WHAT!?
I glared at Gavin and he just shrugged,
"Yea, he put soya milk in the fridge... I didn't realise and plus we had been out drinking. But the one creepy thing was that I woke up with Michael."
All she did was put her middle finger up at me. Gavin looked confused,
"You had to be there! Gav, can you grab us a drink please?" he nodded and left. When I knew he had gone I turned to Charlotte and said,
"What's new in the Dan and Phil world?!"
"Really? You've had no Dan and Phil?"
"No! Pewds, Rooster teeth, Achievement hunter, Red Vs Blue and RWBY have been pulling me back... so TELL,TELL,TELL!"
She took in a breath and tried not to squeal,
"They announced it! Phan is real!"
We both squealed and I clapped.
"Anyone else?"
"Chris and PJ!"
She started to laugh and Gavin walked back in. Charlotte had her drink... somehow and then said that she's shattered.
"Okay, I'll see you tomorrow yea?! Is luna and Eloise flying over?"
She shook her head, "No, luna's working and Eloise is busy doing stuff..."
I nodded and gave her a hug, "Don't do anything stupid!"
She scoffed, "Me! Something stupid?! I'm not like you!" I laughed and walked out. Me and Gavin walked down to the others which were deep in conversation and Ray asked,
"How is she?"
"she's getting there... still can't convince her to not pull it though."
they all looked concerned at me, "Hey! I won't do something stupid! She's still alive isn't she!"
They nodded and then they asked where Dan was staying. He asked if he could stay with us and before I could intervene, Gavin said,
"Sure! Just be sure to take the lift!" We all laughed and Gavin wheeled Dan over to the car. I remembered mine was still at the office so; somehow, we made it there. I packed up my things and had a chat with Lindsay.
"How is she?"
"She's getting there. Can't convince her not to do it though."
She nodded and then said, after a moment of silence,
"Casey, about the other day. I had no right to hit you."
"Yes you did Lins, you had every right! I was out of control!"
"No, you were being reasonable. You-"
"Have a massive thing for Gavin!"
She laughed, reaslising that I was repeating what she said. At that moment Gavin walked in and said that he was ready.
"You two friends now?"
I look to Lindsay and then we both glare at him.
"T-that's creepy!" He said as he slowly backed away. We both laugh and I said that I would see her tomorrow.
When we got to the apartment complex, Dan and Gav took the lift and I went up the stairs. Some how I beat them to to apartment. I unlocked the door, put the bags in the kitchen table and went into my room. I got changed into my panda onesie. This one Charlotte bought me for my 18th birthday an I still fit into it. I heard Dan and Gavin walked into the living room and I walked out to see them. I pulled my onesie hood up, it has little panda ears on the hood. They both laugh as I walked in and I just glared at them. They shut up immediately. I sat next to Dan and asked what they wanted for tea. They said Fajitas so I gave Gavin the tv remote and walked into the kitchen to make food.
We sat and ate, I asked Dan and Gav about future slo mo videos and that I had a few simple ideas. When we had finished, I took the dishes into the kitchen and put them on the side. I felt a pair of arms around my waist. I figure it was Gavin. He rested his head on my shoulder and said
"Don't do them, i'll do them later."
When he spoke, his breath made me shiver. I felt my knees buckle but his grip kept me up. He spun me around and started to kiss me passionately. I pulled away for a breath and he then started to kiss and nibble down my neck, leaving marks. I shudder at his touch on my neck and I gently push him away. I gave him a gentle kiss and whispered into his ear,
"Not now baby. Dans still up."
He smiled and kissed me again. I put my hood up once more, to hide the marks on my neck.
At seven, we were all sat on the sofa, playing Black Ops II Zombies. Gavin paused the game and left the room to get drinks. At that moment, I heard my phone ring. I shouted to Gavin
"Babe, can get that?"
"Sure!" I heard him reply. Dan looked at me confused and then the penny dropped,
"You two are together!!!"
I raised one eyebrow at him,
"Really? We were just snogging in the kitchen and him living with me, didn't give it away?!" I gently smack him around the head and said,
"Blonde twat!"
He swatted me away and shouted
"B! She's attacking me!!"
I fell of the sofa laughing.

A/n hey so I was writing nonstop on Sunday night and I finished the chapter. We are getting close to the end but it won't be for another 5/6 chapters maybe more.

So yea
