-=Ham's POV=-
A funny idea comes to my head as we wait for Benny and Charlie to come back from wherever they even went. I stand up, popping a stick of candy in my mouth and start my funny joke.
"Guys." I say, grabbing their attention. They all look my way.
"I'm the Gweat Bambwino." I say, my voice muffled my the candy that's placed in between my lips.
"What?" They all ask, not understanding what I'm trying to say.
"I'm the Gweat Bambwino." I say again, trying to sound less muffled but failing terribly.
"What??" All of the boys ask for a second time.
"Ugh." I huff, rolling my eyes. I rip the candy stick out of my mouth. "I'm the Great Bambino!"
"Ohhhhh." They nod their heads, finally understanding what I was imitating.
"Who's that?" A new voice asks. I turn around very slowly, taking a few steps back until I'm next to DeNunez. It's Benny and Charlie, with that new kid from yesterday stood in between them.
"What?" I ask no-one in particular. "What did he just say?" I ask DeNunez.
"What, were you born in a barn, man?" Bertram speaks up.
"Yeah-Yeah, what planet are you from?" Yeah-Yeah asks.
"You never heard of the Sultan of Swat?" Squints questions the new kid.
"The Titan of Terror?"
"The Colossus of Clout?"
"The Colossus of Clout?!"
I look across at Benny to see him looking away, embarrassed. Charlie just stares at the ground, playing with her fingers.
"The King of Crash, man." Benny sighs.
"Oh, yeah, The Great Bambino. I thought you said The Great...Bambi!" The kid says, smiling awkwardly.
"That wimpy deer??" I ask, not believing want I just heard.
"Yeah, I guess. Sorry." The kid laughs a little.
"A-Anyway, Scott, that's Timmy and Tommy Timmons," Benny says, pointing to Timmy and Tommy. Timmy spits on the ground, and as always, Tommy does the exact same thing.
"Mike 'Squints' Palledorous," Benny continues. Squints spits on the ground too.
"Alan McClellan-- we call him Yeah-Yeah," Yeah-Yeah spits on the ground, then takes his hand out of his glove and starts cracking his knuckles.
"Bertram Grover Weeks," Bertram basically dribbles onto the ground, making a weird squelching noise whilst doing so.
"Kenny DeNunez," Kenny spits on the ground just like everyone else.
"And Hamilton Porter. We call him Ham." Benny introduces me, and so I spit on the ground and stare harshly at the new kid.
"Guys, this is Scott Smalls." Benny says, motioning over to 'Scott'.
"Hi." Scott smiles, waving awkwardly. Squints spits on the ground a second time and I smirk at him.
"Yeah, um, well, he's gonna play with us 'cause he makes nine." Benny tells us. I can't believe this. "Charlie's decided not to play today, she's just gonna watch like she sometimes does. So now we've got a whole team. We're wasting time. Let's go to the sandlot.
"Benny, it's 9 o'clock in the morning." Bertram whines.
"Its 9 o'clock Benny!"
Great. What a long day this is gonna be.
