Brothers?!

Amelia's Pov-

I giggled as me and Carter turned the corner to McDonalds. As we walked toward the door, I saw Tabitha and Austin walk out of some "healthy" food place.

I quickly look down. Hoping Tabitha OR Austin wouldn't notice me and Carter.

Carter looked at me with concern. As soon as he saw Tabitha and Austin. I had showed him a picture of Austin so he knew what he looked like. So he probably put the pieces together and gathered that the girl was Tabitha.

I, in return, only gripped his hand tighter. Fighting the tears that tried so desperately to fall.

"Oh look who it is. Little Mia and her new boyfriend." Tabitha said walking over to me and Carter. I didn't speak not even fighting the fact he wasn't my boyfriend.

Austin looked at me sadly.

"What are you a street rat?" She jeered. Carter's grip on my hand tightened.

I quickly pull him with me walking into the building. As Tabitha chuckled lightly. It was one thing to HAVE to date Tabitha but Austin could've at least stood up for me and Carter! But whatever.

"I'm sorry about her." I whisper as we took a seat in McDonalds.

"It's fine babe." He smiled. I smiled back. Yeah I know what your thinking. Friends don't say "babe" to each other, but me and Carter did. It didnt matter anyways. I didnt care anymore about other people. But somehow I always seek for Tabitha's approval. It was stupid... But it was something I wanted and desired.

I look down at my folded hands.

"Mia?" Carter asked quietly.

"Yeah." I say snapping out of my daydream. I smiled up at him. Finding comfort in his eyes.

"I want to tell you something... But not here." He said, wanting to talk in private.

I quickly agree, grabbing my iPhone and his hand walking back home.

Carter opened the door to our house. I smiled as I thought. It was nice to have a friend here 24/7 to open up to.

"Ok.. I have to tell you something." Carter's usual steady voice stutters.

I smile. "Ok. I'm listening" I sit down on the couch.

"I... Um... I..." Carter stuttered.

I giggle. "Carter it's only me. You can tell me anything."

Carter's Pov-

I couldn't tell her.. How! I can barely talk with out stuttering! Stupid me... Ugh gosh!

Quick Carter make something up.... Something convincing.

I take a deep breathe. "I... I wasn't alone on the night you were going to kill yourself..." I mumbled.

Mia looked at me in confusion. "What...?"

"I wasn't alone... I was with Justin... He... He's my... Brother.." I whisper. It wasnt a lie. He really was my brother. Sadly... But I'm still not ready to tell her what I was REALLY going to tell her.

Her eyes widened. She stood up.

Great! I thought to myself I just ruined my friendship with the person that meant so much to me!

But to my surprise she wrapped her arms around my torso. "I'm glad you told me. I know your NOTHING like him." She says gently.

I let out a sigh of relieve. Wrapping my arms around her small body.

If only I had the courage to tell her what I was really going to say. But i mean she did deserve to know about my.. Brother.

Right now Carter! Tell her! My heart told me. But I hesitated.

I couldn't not yet.. Not now... Maybe never. I couldn't ruin our friendship.

I could never let anything break our friend ship.
