Chapter 9-
*One month later*
Tessanie's P.O.V.
*beep beep* Shit.
My plane is leaving today for California. I'm so excited to go but sad to leave my friends behind. Last week I got a restraining order on Jackson when he was released, so he shouldn't be bothering me
I slowly make my way out of bed and into the bathroom. I turn on the shower and strip my clothes off then hop in the warm shower. The warm water feels amazing on my body. After I shampoo and condition, I wash my body and shave my legs. I turn off the shower and hop out. I walk to my bed and pick up the outfit I picked out for the long travel day. I packed all my bags the night before so I wouldn't have to worry about it.
After I'm dressed, I make my way downstairs. I had moved in with Lauren and Tyler for the last month before I go to college.
"Good morning sunshine!" Lauren's lively voice catches me off guard. "I made you breakfast. Pancakes, your favorite!"
"You didn't have to. Why are you up? Where's Tyler?" I ask her as I sit down in front of my plate.
"He is at his brothers house. And I'm taking you to the airport, duh. You didn't think I would just let you leave without a goodbye or anything did you?" She asks, joining me at the table. I shake my head no and we start laughing.
After we finish eating and cleaning up the kitchen, I run upstairs to get my bags. Lauren came up to help me. I decided to only pack my clothes and toiletries so I only had three bags plus my backpack with my laptop and stuff in it. Since I'm flying I don't want to have a bunch of bags. When I get there, I will just buy decorations and other stuff I want or need. Once we got all the bags downstairs and into the car, I run back upstairs to grab my favorite hoodie. It's one of Andrew's that he gave to me one night that we went on a hayride. I just never gave it back. When I got to my room, I located the drawer it was in and opened it. Oh my god. "My ring!" I almost shout, then hush myself not wanting to grab the attention of Lauren. Laying there was my promise ring from Andrew. I thought I lost it months ago! I quickly grabbed it and put it on, it still fit perfectly. I walked down stairs and got into the car with Lauren. We pull out of the driveway and onto the road. I'm in such a good mood now that I found my ring. I smile like and idiot while staring at it. I wonder if Andrew still has his? Oh right, he is engaged so no. He probably got rid of it a while ago. Oh well...
"What are you smiling at?" Lauren's questioning voice pulls me out of my thoughts. "Is that your promise ring? From Andrew?" Her eyes widened and her jaw dropped. A blush creeped onto my cheeks. "Well? Care to explain?" Lauren asks with a giant smile across her face.
I look out the window, not wanting to see her face when I tell her this. "I think I'm still in love with Andrew." When I turn to her she still has that smile which confuses me. I thought maybe she would be upset or disappointed.
"I knew it! You have been acting so weird lately and I knew something was up! Don't worry, I support all your decisions. Just keep your eyes open for any other guys, I mean you never know who will walk into your life." She says then I turn up the radio, not wanting to talk anymore.
Once we made it to the airport, we got out and made it through security. Since me and Chris were going to the same place, we decided to fly together. We made it to the gate and I spotted Chris. "Hey boy!" I shout at him. He turns around with a big smile and opens his arms for a hug.
"Hey girl!" He says back and I hug him tightly. He says hello to Lauren and hugs her. We still have thirty minuets to kill to we get some coffee and sit around talking and acting like the idiots we are. I'm going to miss Lauren so much.
"Flight 42B boarding now." The intercom announces our flight. I look at Lauren and she is starting to cry so I envelope her in a hug.
"I love you. I will call you as soon as I land. We can Skype every night and text all day. I promise I will come back to visit you during holidays. Bye." I say to her as I pull away.
Once we all say our goodbyes, me and Chris board the plane. When we find our seats we get settled in and prepare our selves for the 4 hour flight ahead of us.
As we speed down the runway and start to take off, I look down at my beloved home town of Chicago. I'm leaving it all behind. All the memories of my parents, Jackson, and Andrew. That is, if I can forget Andrew. I'm still not sure because how can you forget someone that your madly in love with?
Andrew's P.O.V.
*beep beep* I turn off my alarm and crawl out if bed. Today is the day I leave is hell hole and start college. I'm so glad the day is finally here. All my bags are packed and in the car already so all I have to do is take a shower and eat breakfast. I stroll into the bathroom and take a shower. When I'm done I put on some sweat pants and a hoodie. I make sure my promise ring is on my finger and make my way downstairs. I asked Maria to make breakfast casserole for me this morning. Breakfast casserole is my favorite breakfast food. I say good morning to my mother and sit down at my seat. My mother joins me at the table and we eat.
"Son, Kristen will be at the airport to tell you goodbye." My mother says. I let out an angry sigh and roll my eyes. My mother gives me 'the look' but I brush it off.
Yeah, my mother made me and Kristen stay together. She told me that if I didn't make up with Kristen then she would hurt my best friend, River. My mother has gone a little pshyco over this whole engagement thing, but after college I'm moving to a little island somewhere in the middle of the ocean far away from Kristen and my mother. There is no way I'm getting married to her, I would go crazy! I can barely deal with her now. I'm trying so hard not to strangle her every time I see her. She is just so different from Tess. They are like polar opposites and its not working out with me and Kristen.
"Come on its time to leave!" My mother shouts and I run out the door and into the car. I turn up the radio and zone out for the rest of the car ride.
We pull into the airport parking lot and park the car. A man, that my mother probably hired, gets all my bags and drags them inside on a cart. We get through security and find the gate.
"Andrew!" Kristen's high-pitch voice squeaks and she smiles wide at me. Her stomach has grown a little with her child in it. My mother is making me tell everyone it's my child when it's not. I found out that the father is some man named Michael that she met at a bar.
"Hi." Is all I say to her as she hugs me. I don't bother to hug back at first, until I feel my mothers eyes burning through the back of my head. Hesitantly, I wrap my arms around Kristen's back. We all sit in the waiting area as my mother and Kristen chat. I just slouch down in my chair and play angry birds.
After what seems like a whole decade, the intercom announces that my flight is boarding. I turn to say bye to my mother and hug her. She isn't crying or anything. She doesn't even look sad. All she says is "Don't do anything stupid." What a great mother, right? Its a different story when I turn to Kristen. She is crying as she hugs me tightly and kisses me. I don't kiss her back and as soon as I turn my back to her, I wipe the kiss off my lips like a child would do when their mother kisses them.
I find my seat on the plane and get comfortable, preparing for the 6 hour flight. I'm flying first class, so I have a seat to myself. I let out a sigh of relief when we take off. I can finally escape from this place. As we fly, I fiddle with my ring and hum "Don't You (Forget About Me)" as I drift off to sleep.
