Chapter 21-

Andrew's P.O.V.

*2 weeks later*

"I know what we can do!" Tess exclaims and throws her hands up.

"And that is?" I ask, holding out the 'is'.

"Can we go ice skating?" She asks innocently, batting her eye lashes at me.

"Anything for you, love. Grab a jacket and lets go!" I tell her and hop of the bed. It makes me so happy to see her happy again. Ever since Chris passed away.... It just hasn't been the same. She stayed with me in the frat house for a while because she couldn't stand to stay in the dorm, which I didn't mind at all.

I slide my jacket on my arms and put a beanie on my head. I have no idea where we are supposed to go ice skating in California, so I hope she knows a spot. She comes out of the bedroom and meets me in the kitchen.

"Ready?" She asks me and kisses my cheek.

"Yeah, but where are we gonna go? I mean I know it's chilly, but it's California."

"Well, if you let me drive then I can show you where there is a place for ice skating." She answers and holds out her hand, a wicked smirk covering her face. I place my keys in her hand and she skips out of the frat house. I roll my eyes and follow her out, closing the door behind me. She is already in the drivers seat of my car and she beckons me to hurry up. I open the door and sit in the passenger seat.

"God, could you be any slower?" She asks sarcastically. I raise my eyebrow at her and turn up the radio. "Do you want to stop for lunch?" My stomach growls and I realize that I haven't eaten all day. I nod my head and we scout for the nearest Taco Bell.

"Exit here, I saw a Taco Bell sign for this exit." I say pointing to the exit lane. She moves to the exit and we get off the interstate. I spot the restaurant and she pulls into the parking lot. When I get out of the car, I notice it is a lot colder wherever we are.

"Where are we? It's cold." I ask. She smiles and holds my hand as we walk in. There aren't too many people in here, only a group of teens and a weird figure in the far corner dressed in a black trench coat. I can't tell if its a woman or a man. But they seem to be sleeping. Possibly a homeless person?

"Sir, can I take your order?" The cashier asks impatiently. I break my gaze to the person in the corner and turn my attention to the cashier, Amy. I smile at her and give her my order. Tess tries to pay but I give Amy my credit card before Tess can protest. She kicks my leg and I stick my tongue out at her. We grab our drink cups and go to the soda fountain.

"What flavor of pop should I get, love?" I ask and she giggles. "What's so funny?"

"Pop? Really?" She asks and bursts into laughter. I cover her mouth, but she licks my hand. I pull it away and wipe it on my jeans.

"I grew up calling it pop in England! Soda sounds weird to me." I defend myself. I miss England. My biological father lives there. He left when I was young, so my mother married my now step-father who is never home anyway. We moved to America when I was thirteen so I remember England pretty well. I have been thinking about taking Tess there for Christmas to visit my grandmother and my aunt, Rachel. Me and River have always wanted to go together, so may be he could come. His parents live in England as well. Our order is called and I walk up to get it and join Tess at her booth. She grabs her food and we dig in.

"So, I was wondering... What are you doing for christma-"

"Hey, I was wondering if I could have your number. You're really pretty." One of the teenage boys has walked to our table. Interrupted me. AND is trying to get MY girlfriends number. Who does this kid think he is. My jaw clenches and I stand up, towering over the scrawny kid.
