Chapter 31-

Andrew's P.O.V.

"What are you doing this weekend?" Tess asks when we settle into our seats in Science class.

"Oh.... I have to get some parts for my car over in Oceanside. Sorry I can't be here with you." I lie smoothly. Now that I think about it, I need to call Lauren and confirm that she is still coming.

"It's ok... I will hang out with Leah and Drew. When will you be back?" She asks. I can tell she is sad, but I am doing this for her. I mean, I picked her best friend to do this with. Lauren was my best choice. I'm surprised she agreed to come and assist me with this.

"I will be back on Sunday around noon." I say with a smile as Professor Fleming strides to the front of the class.

"Good afternoon class. Today we are going to be discussing nerves." She rambles about the nerve's purpose, which I already know, so I zone out.

Afternoon classes fly by and soon I find my self kissing Tess goodbye in the parking lot.

"I love you! Have fun in Oceanside. Be safe!" She calls out to me as I climb into the drivers seat of my new Jeep Wrangler. I blow her a kiss and watch her walk to her scooter and zoom away. Once she is out of view, I pull out my phone and dial Lauren's number.

"Hello?" She answers loudly.

"Hey Lauren. You still coming?" I question and hear many voices on the other end.

"Yes. Im sorry, I'm still at the airport in Huntington Beach. I am almost out. Have you left yet?" She asks as I turn my key in the ignition.

"Leaving now. See you in a bit. Thank you again." I half smile and I back out of the parking spot.

"No problem. She is my best friend, I would do anything to make her happy. See you soon." She says and I hang up.

I pull off campus and turn on my radio, preparing for the two hour drive ahead of me.

After a terribly long car ride, I finally see the sign that says 'Welcome to Oceanside'. I stop at a gas station and send a text to Lauren, telling her that I just made it. I place my phone in my back pocket and put the pump in the gas tank, letting the gasoline flow into my car. My phone buzzes in my pocket after my tank is full, and I slide my screen open.

From: Lauren

Just got here. Meet me at the Jared's on Corver st. in five.

I smile and jump into my car. I'm way too excited to pick out this ring.

"Hey Andrew!" Lauren waves to me, standing by the door. I wave back and give her a small hug. "This is honestly such a cute idea."

"Really? I was thinking it was dumb." I admit, rubbing my neck.

"Yes! Are you serious? Renewed promise rings? That is amazing. It brings out your sensitive side." She teases and I roll my eyes, nudging her arm with my shoulder. "Anyway, do you have any design in mind?"

"Well... I was thinking a thin or medium band size with a emerald stone, that is her birth stone, and little diamonds on the sides of the stone. Unless you think she wouldn't like that... I just want it to be.... Perfect." A smile spreads across Lauren's face, and I half-smile.

"Andrew! She will love it! I don't think I could've thought of a better ring. Let's go find a worker to help us." She grabs my hand and drags me through the store until a mid-aged woman comes in view. She turns to us and smiles.

"Hello you two. How can I help this lovely couple?" She asks kindly and me and Lauren stare at each other.

"Oh... Um we aren't.." I begin but Lauren cuts me off.
