Pap's Confession

Papyrus's p.o.v.

We gathered at the station... Well... My group was last to arrive with Frisk on my shoulders.

When we got closer we can hear Undyne say how the department won't help.
"But there has to be something they can do?" Asgore said.

Frisk starts squirming on my shoulders.
"MOMMA! POPPA!" He says. Gaining everyone's attention.
"FRISK!! OH MY GOSH!" Toriel says.
Frisk jumps into her arms.
"Guess I should call [Y/N\Rosanne]" Undyne says.
I was about to protest, but she already pressed call.

We hear 'I kissed a girl' by Katy Perry sound from Undyne's vehicle.
Alphys went over and pulled the human's phone from the front seat.
"I-I don't th-think she's g-g-g-going to get it u-u-u-Undyne."
Undyne hangs up as she walks over to Frisk.

"Who found you?"
Frisk sniffles. "M-m-my cousin..."
"But you came back with the skeletons and Flowey." Toriel says.

I couldn't take it any more and start to walk back to the Underground. No body seems to notice.
Grillby joined me when I was three blocks away.
"Hey Papyrus." He says.
"Hello Grillby."
"Going to the void?"
"Yep."
We walk in silence for a moment.
"Why?"
"Because the girl of my dreams is trapped there with a maniac who has done terrible things to her!"
"What did Gas-"
"GASTER DIDN'T DO ANYTHING!! SHE'S TRAPPED IN THERE WITH THAT STUPID DEMON WHO HAS POSSESSED FRISK ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS!" I stop and stare at the ground. "AND MADE HIM KILL EVERY MONSTER IN THE UNDERGROUND!! AND SHE'S TRAPPED WITH A DEMONIC-LIKE HUMAN WHO HAS RAPED HER MULTIPLE TIMES!!!"
"Papyrus calm down..."

I look at him.
"I CAN'T CALM DOWN!!! IF I DON'T GO BACK TO THE UNDERGROUND AND GO THROUGH GASTER'S DOOR IN ORDER TO GET TO THE VOID THE HUMAN- MY HUMAN MIGHT DIE!!!!!....... And it will be all my fault...."
I can't hold it back any more. I sit on the ground and cry. Grillby crouches down and rubs my back reassuringly.
"Well... Let's make a pit stop at Snowdin first... I have something I have to give you.."
I nod. I close my eyes as I feel Grillby teleport us to his old establishment.

I stay sitting as Grillby goes to the back to get something. When he comes back, he hands me a bottle. I look at it and see that it's a bottle of Grillby's hardcore vodka.
"Grillby?"
"Just drink it. I meant to give it to you the reset before last.. But never got the chance since that was a genocide run.." Grillby smiles and rubs the back of his neck nervously.
I look at the bottle and drink it in a few gulps. It somehow gave me more determination to find [Y/N\Rosanne].

My phone starts to ring and I picked it up.
"HELLO?"
"paps! omg! where are you?!" Sans.
"GRILLBY'S."
"Pap this is no time for karaoke!"
I sigh. "You on speaker?"
He hesitated. "no."
"You with the rest of the group?"
"yes."
"Put me on speaker."
I wait for him to do that.
"Okay Pap. You're on speaker."

I sigh.
"Hey guys."
"Papyrus where the hay are you!?!" Undyne.
"I'm at Grillby's."
"Papy this is no time for karaoke! My cousin is-" Frisk.
"In the void. I know. You said she was."
I hear everyone question what the void is. Then Toriel spoke up.
"Wait... Isn't Grillby's closed tonight?"
I turned on my speaker just as she said that.
"It is but we're not at that one."
Everyone hesitated.
"Grillby? You're with Pap?" Sans.
"Yes. And Sans I am quite disappointed in you."
"What? Why?"
Grillby looks at me and I look at him.
"Tell them."
"I'm not ready for them to know just yet."
"Just do it. They need to know. And you need to talk to somebody other than [Y/N\Rosanne] about it."
"Grillby I'm not ready..."
"Just tell us already Papyrus!" Undyne.
I sigh and look at Grillby. Then at the bottle. Empty.
"Okay.. But do you have another bottle down here Grillby?"
"Yep.. Hang on.."
"Bottle? What kind of bottle Papyrus?" Still Undyne.
"A bottle of Grillby's hardcore vodka Undyne. Okay?"
I hear gasps on the other end as Grillby comes back with the bottle. I set my phone on the floor and take the bottle. "Thanks Grillby."
"No problem."
"Pap... Vodka is a little strong don't you think?" Sans.
"Oh I've been drinking for the past fifty or so resets Sans! So shut up about it being hard or not! Beer doesn't satisfy me any more!"
The line went dead.. Then we hear Alphys speak up.
"R-.... Resets?"
"Um.........." Sans.
"Pap.. How do you-" Frisk.
"Know about them? I don't know... Grillby remembers too."
"It's true. I do."
"Hold up before you go any further Papyrus!" Undyne.
I stop mid-sip. "Yea?"
"What in the hay is a reset?"
"Heh..... I can't explain them that well.... Neither can Grillby... So try asking Sans and Frisk... Considering Frisk is the one who did the reseting."
The line went dead again as I take a sip from the bottle.

"Sans." Undyne says threateningly.
"Yea?" Sans says nervously.
"What is a reset?"
"Well... You see...." I can almost hear the sweat pouring off of him.
"A reset is when I reset the time and everyone's memories back to when I first fell into the underground. As far as I knew. Sans, Flowey, and myself were the only one's who could remember." Frisk.
"Well I guess that adds to the list of beings who can remember. Huh Papyrus?"
"Yea." I finished the bottle.
"N-n-now I r-remember! I r-read about those i-i-i-in one of the files b-b-b-by the royal scientist b-b-b-b-before m-m-m-me." Alphys.
I chuckled.
"What's so funny Papyrus?!" Undyne.
"Oh nothing. I just never thought you and father kept files on your work Sans."
More silence.
"Father?" Asgore.
"Yea. Dr. W. D. Gaster was mine and Pap's father." Sans
"Is."
"Papyrus he died."
"No. He's alive. You know it. Now that I think about it.... Frisk actually took me into his door around the 267th reset." Silence. "And I know you've fought him with Frisk, Sans."
"Pap. Which Grillby's are you in?"
"Why? We're not done here."
"What? WHAT ELSE DO YOU HAVE TO TELL US PAPYRUS?!?" Undyne.
"THE FACT THAT I HAVE DEPRESSION!"
Longer silence than before.

"Pap-" Sans.
"That's why I'm disappointed in you Sans. You failed to notice your own brother's feelings."
"Hey Grillby. You know what surprises me?"
"What?"
"I don't even have the slightest of buzzes from drinking two bottles of your hardcore vodka."
"Huh.... Show's how tolerant you've gotten through the resets."
"Yea."
"Papyrus.... How?" Sans.
"How what? My depression?"
"Yes."

"Let's see.... Your stress when you used to help father, I did a lot of imprinting then. Not being able to make you happy. You almost DYING! Your nightmares. Your sorrow growing with each reset. Let's not forget father's death. You threatening other monsters in order to make sure I'm happy! And just....." I put my head in my hands. I used my fingers to count how many things caused my depression.
"And?........." Sans.
"Losing control of my emotions when I tried to make you the happiest monster in the underground when we were younger."
I hear gasps on the other end.
"Pap.... I'm sorry.... I didn't notice..."
"Cause you were too busy stressing first about each reset, then making a living on the surface!" I kind of snap.
"Papy calm down. Where are you and we'll come to you. Then we can go find my cousin together!" Frisk says.
I pick up my phone. Getting ready to press end. "Then meet me in the void." I press end before they can protest.

Grillby and I leave. Leaving our phones in the restaurant.

Hang on [Y/N\Rosanne]! I'm coming!

normal p.o.v.

When you woke up you were met with a screen showing Papyrus confessing his depression through the phone. Though you would prefer he did it in person, he at least did it.

The screen disappears and standing there is the girl who had Frisk pinned. You growl a little. You look at your surroundings and see only black with a slight red tint.

"Greetings [Y/N\Rosanne]." She says.
"What do you want?" You snap.
"Oh. It's not what I want. It's what he wants."
"He?"
You hear a deep, masculine chuckle.
"Hello cupcake~! Miss me?" The voice says.
"...... no......" You say under your breath.
Both the voice and The girl laugh.
