We get dropped off at our city football field because they host the graduation there now because our classes are getting larger and it's just easier to work with. Morgan and Kirra are talking to other students as I just follow them watching others talking to their friends or parents on how exited they were. I sigh at the thought of not having my father at graduation but figure it's for the best.
After about 20 minutes or so everyone finds their seats and the ceremony starts. I clench my metal fold out chair to were my knuckles turn white, I'm so nervous my palms are sweaty and the kid next to me is trying to crack jokes to the people around us but it just makes my mind wander. My last name is Walls and they just called Aj up, her last name is Porter so we still have some way to go. I stare at her as she gets to her seat I then shake my head remembering what she did to me and I look up at the stage.
My foots shaking and my head's lost in space till I hear my name over the loud speaker. "Lauren Walls." I shoot my head up and walk up the stairs shaking the principals hand and finally grabbing my diploma. That was probably the best moment of my entire life, I smile to myself staring at the slip of paper getting back to my seat. Once all the graduates names were called we moved our little tassels we had from the right side of our hat to the left and on the 3 we shot our hats up in the hair. My stomach dropped once my hat left my fingers, a big smile took over my face and I stare at all the smiling faces around, some people even crying with tears of joy, or maybe even sadness because for some odd reason their going to miss High School.
I start to walk around and find Morgan and Kirra, we all hug and cheer, they asked if I wanted to get home to start packing or go out to Noah's lake house were there's this huge party, and me being the loser I am I asked them to take me home so I could finally finish packing. They agreed and after saying their goodbyes to their parents we loaded in Brett's car and they would drop me off before they go out to the Lake. "You sure you don't want to come out and party Lauren?" Brett smirks at me, "Nope Brett but thank you." I smile
"Mkay Lauren we'll see you before you fly out!" Kirra yells before they pull off.
I take a deep breath and walk up the sidewalk to the front door, before I could open the door it swings open.
"Di - d youu just graduate?" My dad hiccups with a beer in his hand, "Umm yeah." I say with my head down. "Nice job bab - y." He says giving me a high five. I walk past him and am relieved I didn't get hit, I haven't told him about me moving out and I don't plan ever to.
I walk up to my basically empty room all I had left was my clothes and electronics (tv, macbook, etc.) to pack so I decided to get 3 outfits out for my rest of the time here in Washington. Once I get all my clothes done with It's about 9:30 and my macbook was blowing up with Skype calls from Trevor, I decide to call him back I run downstairs and grab a bottle of water I come back up and start the call with him. Only seconds later did he answer,
"LAUREN!!!" Trevor yells on the other side
"HEY TREV!" I yell back.
"HOW WAS GRADUATING?!" I could hear Ricky yell in the back "Oh yeah Ricky's here." Trevor says rolling his eyes.
"It was awesome and now I'm finally free." I reply. "Fuuuuuuun." Ricky yells.
We talk about me moving out there soon and how our futures are looking when Sam Kian and Conner walk in. "Hey Lauren." They all wave and smile at me coming to the screen.
"Hey guys." I wave back, "Were's Jc?" I ask
"I dunno probably out getting drunk." Kian says rolling his eyes, "Dude.." Sam says quietly hitting him in the chest, "What?!" Kian says putting his hands up, "she's moving in might as well know he gets wasted 24/7. "
I stayed silent. I really liked Jc I wish he was at least here to say hi. After a while of laughter we all decided it was getting late and ended the call.
This night was actually way better than what I had expected, and for once in a long time I fall asleep with a smile on my face.
