Evie gave a little sob.
Caroline sat down on the bed next to her and took the pregnancy test out of her hand and looked at it.

Two bars.

She looked up at Evie and saw that she was so scared. She sobbed more. Caroline wrapped her arms around her.

They sat like that, for what must have ages. Evie shaking in her arms and Caroline squeezing her with all her might.

Finally Evie pulled back.
"I'm so sorry." She said.

Caroline looked at her confused. "What do you mean? It's Jackson who should be-"

"Jackson?" Evie cut her off. Then she realised. She took a breath.
"He's not the father."

Caroline stared at her and then threw her hands up to her face. "Ben?" She whispered.

Evie nodded sadly.

Caroline looked over at Will who was staring up at her with his big green eyes, from the corner of the room.

She didn't know what to think.

"Caroline, I'm so sorry. Your the only one I thought to come too and..and I..I didn't want to tell him ye..yet cause-" she broke off into a fit of sobs.

Caroline hugged her. "It's going to be okay. Your going to be fine." She then got up and grabbed some pj's out of her draw and gave them to Evie. "Here, you can sleep here tonight."

The sun light was streaming in her room when she awoke.
It was quiet. She couldn't hear the noise of the television downstairs or the usual morning talk. Just a soft breathing noise next to her. She looked over.

Evie was fast asleep on the other side of her bed. Her legs were hanging out from the blanket. Her arm wrapped around the pillow. Caroline could see her mascara still stuck on her cheeks from her tears last night.

What was she going to do.

Thinking about it now, it was a much bigger issue. She could only imagine how Evie felt.
And Ben? What would he say when he fond out. Would he be scared? Angry? Sad? Happy?

Caroline grabbed her phone from her bedside table and scrolled through her Instagram.
There was comments all on her post of her and Nic.
Emily had taken a photo of the two of them last night. And Caroline had to admit, it was a great photo. She was leaning into Nic so happy and he was looking down at her smiling sheepishly.

She smiled to herself.
Then her smile fell.
What would this baby mean for her family?
What would it mean for her and Nic.
There was no way Dad would agree to a baby living with them.

She put her phone back down and just wanted to curl under the blankets again, and not come back out.

Will saw that she was awake and jumped onto the bed and lay in the space next to her.
She pet him and rubbed his chin.
"Oh Will, what are we going to do?" She whispered to him. He meowed back at her and blinked his big green eyes.

Evie shifted next to her. "Hey." She said.

"Hey, sorry didn't mean to wake you." Caroline said as she looked at the ceiling.

"No, it's all good."

They lay there in silence for a while.

"Evie."
"Yeah?"
"Your going to have to tell him soon."

Evie sighed, "I know."

"I don't know what's going to happen." Said Caroline.

"I know..I just I didn't mean to.. Usually I'm careful, but..but-" she sounded like she was going to start crying.
