Chapter 16

[DILL’S POV]

I woke up early this morning to ask Elly’s parents an important question. I dialed they’re number and waited for someone to answer.

“Hello?” I heard Alpha Jones say.

“Hello Mr. Jones, ummm is Mrs. Jones with you?” I asked nervously.

“Yes, she right beside me, what is boy?”

“Can you put your phone on speaker?”

“Yes, you’re on speaker boy, now go on.”

“Okay. You know that I love your daughter with all my life.”

“Yes, boy go on.” He said. I was starting to get annoyed with him calling me boy.

“I want to ask for your permission to marry you’re daughter.” I told them confidently. I quickly heard Mrs. Jones scream with joy. I chuckled and Mr. Jones laughed.

“Of course you can boy. You love her and she loves you!!! If she’s happy then go ahead!!!” Mrs. Jones said.

“Her happiness is what matters, I give you permission. Don’t get married without us.” Mr. Jones said.

“Thank you so much Sir. And we won’t.” I said gratefully.  

“So when are you going to ask the big question?” Mrs. Jones asked.

“Well today actually. I just wanted your permission.”

“Well you got our permission. Now go get ready son!!!” she told me before she hung up the phone. I’m really asking Elly to marry me today. It feels like it was only yesterday she had walked into my mom’s dining room and our eyes met and she intoxicated me with her scent. After graduation I will take her to lunch and ask her. No, I’ll take her to this meadow that I found with exotic flowers and propose to her there after lunch. I’ll take her to her favorite Italian restaurant. Then we’ll go to the party.

I walked into Mike’s room and woke him up by pushing him off his bed.

“What the hell was that for?” he asked furiously.

“I’m going to ask your sis to marry me.” he expression changed from angry to happiness.

“Dude that’s awesome! Did u get the ring?”

“No, I’m going to propose to her with a ring pop. OF COURSE I GOT THE RING!!!”

“Let me see it.”

“Give me a sec.” I ran to Elly's room, went into one of my drawers, grabbed the velvet box and ran back to Mike’s room. I gave him the box and his eyes widened when he saw the ring.

“How did you she wanted this ring? This is the ring that she always went head over heels with at the Jewelers.”

“It reminded me of her so I got this one.”

“Dude she’s going to love this.”

“Thanks man.”

“No problem and get out of my room, you should go get ready.”

“We're leaving in twenty minutes.” I told him as I walked out of the room.

“Alright.” I heard him say.

I walked into our room and Elly was still sleeping. I walked into the closet and grabbed a pair of slack and the button down shirt Elly loves, I got dressed and walked into the bathroom. I looked at my hair and I looked perfect. It was slight wild but slightly neat. I walked out of the bathroom and gave Elly a kiss. I walked downstairs to find Mike pouring himself a cup of blood.

“Gross.” I said.

“That’s your opinion, but-"

"to me it’s delicious.” I said when I cut him off. He chugged down his blood and was the cup. 

“I’m ready, let’s go.” Mike said while walking towards the garage. I put my jacket on and followed him out.

“Were taking your car.” He told me. I nodded and grabbed my keys from the key hanger. I got into my car and drove off.

-AFTER GRADUATION-

“So where are we going again? You said you were going to give me my gift during lunch. We just had lunch and now were driving in the middle of the woods.” Elly said frustrated.

“You have no patience woman.” I told her.

“Well I want to know what my gift is.”

“We will be there in 30 seconds. Literally.”

“I’m going to countdown.” She said and started to countdown from 30.

“Ten, nine, eig- WHOA!!!!” she said when the meadow came into view. I parked the car and she ran out into the middle of the meadow.

“IT''S BEAUTIFUL!!!”

“You’re Beautiful.”

“That’s so cheesy Dill.” Elly said and giggled.

“I know I just couldn’t help myself.” I told her and she laughed. She ran to me and kissed me passionately.

“I didn’t come here just to make out.” I said between kisses. Oh God I’m so nervous. I looked at her and she was confused.

“Okay then why did we come here for then?”

“Elise Jones, you are the most amazing, beautiful and most perfect girl in this planet. You are the most important person in my life. I would do anything for you. I love you so much and I want to spend the rest of my life with you and create a family. I guess what I’m trying to say is…….” I told her as I got onto one knee, I pulled out the velvet box out of my pocket and opened it to show her the ring.

“Will you marry Elise Jones and become Mrs. Dylan Thompson?”
