Chapter 19

[Elly’s POV]

 Beep……Beep….Beep…..

That’s all I heard, and boy was it annoying!!!!! I opened my eyes slowly but quickly closed them.

“Bright light. Bright light.” I croaked. Damn I sound horrible.

“Elly!” I heard Mike and Dill yell. Dill walked up to me and hugged me and kissed my forehead.

“Hey guys…” I said and then noticed that I’m at a hospital. “Why am I at a hospital?” I asked.

“You kind of slipped down the stairs and hit your head. You tumbled all the way down…. Like Jill from the Jack and Jill rhyme.” Mike said and laughed at the joke the made. He just kept on laughing while Dill and I look at him like he’s crazy, which he is by the way.

“Did I really slipped and fall the stairs?” I asked and tried to sit up, but a pounding came to my head like if I was having a very bad hangover.

“Forget I asked anything, I think my huge headache just answered my question.” I said before anybody answered.

“Yeah the doc said you were going to have one of those.” Mike said trying to stop laughing but was failing miserably.

“The joke you made wasn’t really that funny Mike.” I said annoyed.

“Sorry sis.” Mike said and turned serious like as if he had flipped a switch. I looked around my room and then suddenly my eyes went to my stomach. My eyes bulged.

“I look really fat.” I said just as the doc walked in. He looked at me and smiled. He looks like a cool dude, I’m going to call him Dr. Dude.

“Hello Elise, how are you feeling?” Dr. Dude asked me.

“I have a really bad headache, but other than that I’m fine.” I replied.

“We’ll have the nurse bring you something for the pain in a few and you will be able to leave tomorrow, we just want to keep you in for observation. And we have some news for you.” He said.

“Okay Doc tell me.” I said and got comfortable

“Well Elise you are a month pregnant.” He said happily. I laughed and looked at Dill. His face was serious but also had a slight smile on his face. I stopped laughing and looked at the Doc.

“You’re kidding right?” I said with a small laugh. Now it was the Docs turn to laugh at me.

“No, Elise you are a month pregnant with twins.” He said. My eyes lit up with excitement.

“So I’m not getting fat, because I’m eating too much? It’s because there’s two babies growing in me.” I said in a ‘Duhhh’ tone. The doc laughed at me. I looked at Dill and he had the biggest smile on his face.

“Come over here and give me a kiss.” I told him happily. He laughed and walked up to me. He bent over and kissed me. I’m ready for this. I’ll take online college courses and he could go back college. We’ll get our own house and we’ll live happily ever after. I hope.

“I can’t wait to be a mom.” I told him.

“I can’t wait to be a dad. We’re probably going to have mini me’s running around or mini Ellie’s. Or a mini me and a mini Elly. I don’t care as long as they get here healthy.” He said. I laughed and kissed him.

“I don’t care as long as they get here healthy too. Did you call mom and dad?” I asked him.

“Yea. They’ll be here tomorrow afternoon. You’ll be home by then.” He said. I scooted over and made room for him to lay down on the bed with me.

“Lay with me.” I told him. He lay beside me trying not to hurt me.

“I’m fine I just have a headache.” I told him with a smile and just as the words came out of my mouth the doc left and came back with some pain killers. I took them and I felt better immediately. I looked at my belly and rubbed it. My stomach grumble and I laughed.

“Are you guy’s hungry? I’m hungry too.” I said to my babies in my belly. “Aw man, I never got my chocolate covered pickle.” I said grumpily. Dill laughed beside me.

“I’ll go get us some McDonalds.” Mike said excitedly. This dude loves McDonalds as much as I do. He got up and walked to the door.

“Could you run home and bring some pickles and chocolate?” I asked him before he left.

“Sure, whatever.” He replied.

“You better bring me back my pickles and chocolate Michael. I will hurt you if you don’t.” I told him seriously. He just laughed and left. I looked at Dill and smiled.

“I’m so happy right now. So what are we going to do?” I asked him.

“Well I was thinking I’ll get a job as music teacher. I just have to go back to college for a few months.” He said softly.

“No, you can’t leave me here. I’m going with you.” I told him seriously.

“I just have to go back for like six months. We can get a small apartment over there for a while.”

“Where is your college? What college do you go to?”

“I go to Berklee College of Music, in Massachusetts.”

“Well I’ll go to college there too after the babies get here.”

“Sounds good to me.” he said and kissed my forehead. I felt tired so I snuggled into his chest.

“I’m tired.” I told him.

“Go to sleep. I’ll make sure Mike doesn’t eat your food.” He said and then I fell asleep. How amazing is this, I’m pregnant and I absolutely love it. My life has just become even more exciting.
