      Jasper's POV)

"What the hell was that, man," Evan asked.

We were now almost to his house and he hasn't shut up since we left the school.

I glanced at him for a second before returning my eyes to the road. "It's just a project Evan. I don't even want to do it with her, But Mrs Willer gave us no option. She paired us up with people she knew we didn't like."

"I just hope you survive it man. "

I pulled into his driveway. "You and me both. "

He chuckled and got out. I backed out and headed home. I sighed. I really don't feel like sitting with Harmony, but what Mariah told me kept replaying over and over in my mind. Was she serious? How did she know? Wait, why do I care? I shook my head to try to care it. Seriously, why did I care. It's not like I felt the same. Besides, she was probably just kidding.

I pulled into my driveway and got out. My mom's car wasn't here which meant she's still at work. I sighed. Perfect, now I have to be alone with Harmony. I went inside and headed to the kitchen. I felt like cooking. But before I started, I text Harmony.

  - 750 Darkwood Dr. Just walk in. Door is unlocked.-

   After two minutes she replied.

     -K-

I hate that. Why do people respond with K. Like, who created that God forsaken letter. And whose idea was it to start using it as a response.

I sighed and looked in the cabinets for food. I decided to make lasagna. I loved the stuff.

I was halfway done when I heard my front door open.

      "Jasper."

I heard my named being called and instantly recognized the voice as Harmony.

    "In here," I called back.

I heard her footsteps. "Where's here?"

I chuckled quietly. "You're almost here. Just follow the sound of my voice. "

Her footsteps finally sounded into the kitchen. "Nice house."

I turned to face her. "Thanks, I guess."

     She nodded.

I sighed pulled the lasagne out of the oven and placed it on top of the stove. I reached up in the cabinet above the stove to grab a plate and the drawer beside it to get a knife and a fork. I cut me a fairly sized piece and sat at the counter before I realized there was company.

I looked up at Harmony ho was standing there like a lost puppy. "Would you like some?"

She hesitated and her mouth parted a fraction as if she was gonna speak. Her eyes flashed to the pan and then back to me. She took a deep breath before shaking her head slightly. "N-no, thank you."

I gave her a curious look.

     She shifted under pressure. "What?"

I knew it may be none of my buisness, but the curiosity finally got to me.
