“Kids get up! We have to be at school in an hour & traffic will be terrible!” Angie shouted from the kitchen where she was making our breakfasts and our lunches at the same time.

I shot up and screamed “WHAT?!?!”, waking every body else up. I quickly ran upstairs and showered while Chloe showered downstairs, Cody ate his cereal sleepily, and Alli changed clothes. Once I was out of the shower I put on the clothes Jack got me and sighed, remembering how sweet he was, but you had to break up with him… Chloe knocked on the door- “You dressed yet?” she said. “Yeah come on in” I said. I began to put on simple make up (mascara, cover up, lipgloss) since you can’t really wear make up to school and I didn’t really like to anyways. Chloe and Alli did the same style of make up. When we got downstairs Cody was listening to music and dancing, ready to leave at any point. We scarfed down our bowls of cereal, brushed our teeth, grabbed our bags and left the house. We had 15 minutes to get to school and Angie was right- traffic was HORRIBLE.

We got to homeroom just before the warning bell and took our seats anywhere we wanted in the room. In my homeroom I had Chloe, Cody was in another homeroom and Alli was on the middle school side of the building. Of course, we had already gotten our schedules, so I knew this: I had Geometry and Physics with both Cody and Chloe, Homeroom; P.E., and History with just Chloe; and English, Music, and French with just Cody.

SCHEDULE ORDER===> Homeroom, History, Physics, French, English, P.E., Geometry, and then Music.

Our homeroom teacher, hell if I remember his name, took roll, welcomed us to high school, and sent us to first period. My next class was History, where the teacher, right-off-the-bat, acted like she hated me and gave us an essay to compose and turn in tomorrow. Second period was Physics- SO CONFUSING- but I chose a seat between Cody and Chloe (and this guy I didn’t know named Tyler). Then in third period (French) the teacher asked me to introduce myself in French and I completely made a fool of myself by basically saying “Hello, my name is French and I don’t really know how to speak Ellie. I just moved here from Cody with that boy over there named Atlanta.”……every one was laughing……I suck at other languages.

Even better, right after I learn French, I get to go learn English- what the hell?! I can’t just flip-flop languages like that people!! But Cody was there to calm me down and be my guide- kinda. The rest of the day wasn’t so bad- in P.E. we ran simple laps, in Geometry we got a little worksheet (but I love math- so it was a breeze), and in music we had a jam session, showing everyone’s talents (super fun)!

That was it. I survived the first day of high school- sorta. Cody’s dad, Brad, picked us all up after school and brought us home (to Cody’s). I said I had homework to do and I walked home to do it in quiet. The only problem was...

I got home and there was Jack, waiting for me on the porch.
