Ellie’s POV

“And...It is officially three o’clock! Let’s go find Alli and get going.” Ariana jumped up off the stairs.

“Alright, she usually waits for us on the Chestnut Street side of the school and Chloe and Tyler are going to the coffee shop to study for French or something.” I said heading towards the school’s gate.

We walked over, found Alli, and explained the day to her. From what happened with me, to what happened to Ariana, to what Cody said to do.

“Oh my gosh. I’m so glad I’m not in your grade! Let’s get going, I don’t want them to come back for you guys.” Alli said pulling us across the street and in the general direction of the Simpson house.

“So Alli, how was today as an eighth grader?” I asked breaking the silence that we had been walking with for three minutes already.

“It’s fine. It’s not as hard as you said it’d be. Maybe that’s because we’re in LA now, but I met this really sweet girl. Her name’s Maggie. She’s just too hilarious. She’s like a little ginger version of Ariana! This weekend we’re gunna hang out with Madison. I think they’ll get along great. Do you guys wanna come with us? Just no smooching with your boy friends...especially you, Elli. It’s cute, but still gross.” Alli laughed.

I love Alli so much. She’s so easy going. Plus, I’d rather hear about her day than think about mine.

Great now I’m thinking about it... I wonder what Cody’s plan is.

Cody’s POV

“WHAT? ARE YOU SERIOUS?” Easton screamed back in response.

“Very serious actually.” I smiled.

“Yes. I will be your girl friend, Cody.” She squeaked out.

“Good. Can you come over for dinner tonight? Please?”

“Hmmm... YES! I’ll be there around seven. See you then boy friend.” She winked and then walked off to find Kylie.

I can’t believe I’m doing this...

Ellie’s POV

Cody came home an hour ago and went straight to his room. He said he had to get ready or something. I’m a little worried about what he did to Easton and Kylie...

“El, come on. We can see you on that last problem. Just finish it up so we can do something!”

Ariana snapped me out of my thinking mode. I solved my last geometry problem and shut my binder and textbook declaratively.

“FINALLY!! So what are we gunna do?” Alli said jumping up and smiling.

“Wanna walk to the corner store? I’m in the mood for a coke icee.” I smile.

“You do know it’s 60 degrees outside...right?” Ariana said looking at me like I was crazy.

“Hey. Think about what I went through today. Yeah, know what? I deserve an icee.” I joked.

“Alrighty then, to the corner store we go! I’ll see if Codes wants to come.” Alli sprinted up the stairs, going two at a time. She came back down moments later with a weird look on her face.

“Alli...?” I asked, she had paused on the last step.

“Cody was...on the phone.” She said looking up at me. Her eyes were watering.

“Alli, what’s wrong?!” Ariana asked because now Alli had broken out into tears.

“Ellie, I’m so sorry... I heard him and he was talking to Easton and... I’m just so sorry!” She sat down and put her head in her hands.
