Chapter Eleven

I woke up peacefully and checked my phone on my nightstand- it was about 8:30. I set down my phone and turned over to see Cody, he wasn’t awake yet, so I quietly got up and snuck into the bathroom to brush my teeth (I didn’t want him to smell my morning breath). Once I was done I snuck back into bed and poked Cody to wake him up. Cody opened his eyes and yawned. I couldn’t help but laugh.

“Umm... Cody, why does your morning breath smell minty-fresh?” I raised an eyebrow.

“I could ask you the same thing!” He laughed. “Ellie, I’m so glad we’re dating. Did you know that you’ve been killing me with your gorgeous SINGLE self all summer long?” Cody smiled and kissed my cheek. 

“Really? I didn’t even know, I thought you didn’t like me like that... ya know, because you say you write your songs about girls you know.” I said lying on my back, looking up at the ceiling. Cody didn’t answer for a minute, then he sat up and sat on my stomach, leaning over me. 

“Cody, what are you doing?” I asked smiling.

“All of those songs were and still are about you. Perfect was when you got braces and thought you looked ugly, iYiYi was when you and Chloe when on a ‘girls only’ trip to NYC, Don’t Cry Your Heart Out was you and Jack’s first fight, All Day was when Alli said you were the only reason I got ready in the morning, Round Of Applause was after you sang at the talent show last year, and all of Coast To Coast was about you. That was all stuff that happened this spring and summer. Ellie I’ve liked you forever!” Cody finished his little monologue. He smiled and I laughed.

“Cody, could you be a better boyfriend??” I said and threw my arms around his neck. 

“You tell me” he smirked, and kissed my nose. We stayed hugging for a little while longer. 

“Okay, come on Codes, I’m bored. Let’s go do something!” I said getting up and out of bed with a sheet around my bottom since I wasn’t wearing pants. I slipped on some shorts and jumped onto the bed. 

“Alrighty little monkey! Wanna go prank the two love birds down there?” he laughed. 

“Yes please!” I gleamed and jumped off my bed, slowly opening my bed room door.

Cody followed me and we crept down the stairs and hid behind the buffet table in the kitchen, peeking over to look into the living room to see what Chloe and Tyler were doing.

“Okay, so they’re still asleep. What do you wanna do? Pour water, silly string, or fake an emergency?” Cody said plotting in his head.

“Oh totally fake an emergency!! So I’ll run in screaming that you were stabbed by a crazy fan when we were out for a walk and then I’ll take them outside and you be hiding in the bushes, okay?” I whispered. 

“Alright, I’ll go get set up. You run in after exactly one minute!” Cody said army crawling out of the kitchen. I had one minute, so I pulled out my phone and tweeted really quick.

“@ELOVESYA: Trying to prank @LilChloeGirl and @TylerIsABOSS with @CodySimpson haha Let’s see how scared they get! ;)” 

Then I put my phone back in my pocket and took a breath. Here we go...
