"Do you know what room Ryan Ross is in?" I asked the lady at the front desk. She looked too tired to be working this late.
"Room 302 on the third floor. Go up the elevator and turn right, he should be right there." She informed.
"Okay, thanks. Have a great night." I took Josh's hand and lead him to the elevator. Once we were inside, Josh stopped hiding his emotions and broke down.
"I can't believe he did this, Tyler. I can't fucking deal with this. The fact that I know someone who just shot my friend is terrifying." I nodded in agreement. I was scared, not just because of what happened, but because Josh didn't seem like the person who cried very often.
We went down a hallway that had a sign saying "Recovery" in bold letters. Josh hesitated before opening the door.
Ryan was asleep, and there were a few other people in the room with him.
"Uh, hi. I'm Josh." Josh awkwardly stood in the doorway with me behind him. We walked in after a couple people waved, and sat down.
"I'm Tyler." I whispered. My guess was that Ryan hadn't woken up since he was shot.
It was 4:00 AM when we left the hospital. Ryan hadn't woken up yet, so the doctors told everyone to leave so they could run some more tests. Josh was a nervous wreck, and I felt so bad for him.
I parked the car into the driveway when I found Josh's face right next to mine. We pressed our lips together and I climbed over to the passenger seat, straddling Josh. I loved him so much.
Knock knock. I jumped back to find Ashley knocking on the window.
"Dammit, Ashley." Josh mumbled under his breath. He opened to door and I climbed off of him."Wow, you're a real slut for Josh. You seem so innocent, Tyler." Ashley laughed, and I did too. She was pretty funny.
"Well, I'm also a slut for popcorn." I joked. We all broke down in laughter.
"So, who's the dominant person in this relationship?" Ashley had just asked a very uncomfortable question, but Josh blurted it out anyway.
"I am." He had a huge, dorky grin on his face that I couldn't help but stare at. Rolling my eyes, I entered the house and prepared for bed with Josh. As we were brushing our teeth, Josh started talking.
"Hey um, thanks. For everything. I appreciate it. Do you think we should go back to school tomorrow?"
"You're welcome, and sure. We can go back to school. I just hope Brendon's not there." Josh nodded and looked down. I knew I shouldn't have said that.
"Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to say that." Josh walked away, and I felt bad.
I climbed into bed with Josh without saying anything.
Josh drove me to school today. We still hadn't talked since last night, and it was really starting to bother me, but I still didn't say anything.
Josh got out of the car as soon as he shut it off. He waited for me though, and laced his fingers with mine. I rested my head on his shoulder and we walked into school. We got weird looks from people, but I didn't care.
"Oh my gosh, are you dating Josh?" I looked behind us to see Melanie. Her hair was black and pink, with a big blue bow. She looked very, how should I explain it? Basically, she was a walking Tumblr, if that makes any sense. Pastel colors only. She was so sweet, as well.
"Well, Melanie. I am dating Josh. Josh, this is Melanie. Melanie, this is Josh." I introduced the two to each other. Melanie was one of my best friends, one of my only friends actually.
"Hey Joshie! Who's that?" I looked behind me to see a girl with blue, pixie cut hair. I'd heard people call her Halsey. She was around Josh a lot.
"Oh hey Halsey. This is my boyfriend, Tyler." Halsey looked a little stunned. I guess she wanted Josh for herself.
"Oh, um. Hi, Tyler. I'm Halsey." I smiled and shook her hand. Suddenly, she leaned into my ear and whispered.
"You better take care of Joshy, or else I'll hurt you real bad." She walked away with such an innocent smile.
"Is she jealous or something?" I asked Josh. He just shrugged it off and we walked to class.
I didn't see Josh again until second period, before lunch. Mr. Way looked at us the entire time, looking like he wanted us out of the room.
"What the hell is your problem?" I looked to my left to see Josh had said that. It was a repeat of when we first met.
"Joshua. Dun. I swear if you-" Mr. Way was cut off.
"Fight me!" I didn't even expect Josh to say something like that.
"You little bitch!" Mr. Way stomped over to Josh and slapped him in the face. Before I knew it, Josh was kicking and fighting back. Josh and Mr. Way were both pretty muscular, so I was scared to interfere, but I did anyway.
"Stop it you two!" I said as I stood in between them. Josh accidentally punched me in the nose and I fell to the ground in shock.
"Oh shit, Tyler! Are you okay?" Josh immediately stopped fighting to check on me. He kneeled down to the ground and put his hand over my now bleeding nose. It took me a minute to get the energy to speak.
"Uh, yeah. I know you didn't mean it." I tried putting my head up, but my head hurt so bad and felt really heavy.
"Oh shit, I punched you pretty hard didn't I? I'll carry you to the nurse. Sorry babe." The entire classroom looked at us when Josh called me babe, but at the moment, I didn't give a shit. Josh picked me up bridal style and walked to the nurse with me.
"I'm so fucking sorry, I really didn't mean to punch you like that. Oh shit, I'm so sorry." I saw a tear in his eye as his head hung low.
"Josh, I'd kiss you right now if I didn't have a splitting head ache." I tried smiling, not even having the energy to do that.
We walked through the doorway and met with Nurse Williams. She was a cool lady. She had her hair dyed yellow. It seemed like a lot of teachers had their hair dyed at this school. Some even had piercings.
"I'm going to call your parents. I'll tell them that they should take you to the ER. Your nose could be broken." The nurse let Josh stay after I told her how it happened. Josh probably wished he hadn't stayed though.
