I rushed into my house in a panic. My heart was beating furiously in my chest, I could've swore it was about to combust. My hands were sweaty from the nerves that ran through my veins. Everything felt like it was going in slow motion as I searched the entirety of the house frantically.
Finally my body collided into my uncle, and I wrapped my arms around him so tightly I could've broken him.
"Woah, hi there, Elaine," he chuckled faintly from the surprise hug I gave him, and responded by wrapping his arms around my shaken state.
"You're okay," I whispered into his chest.
"Of course I'm okay," he replied reassuringly, "Why wouldn't I be?"
I paused, not entirely sure of how to exactly explain the situation of what has been happening in Beacon Hills. There was no easy way to ever explain what was going on inside of this small town.
"You're just safe, and here, and alive, and okay, and that's all that matters." I rambled out.
He nodded skeptically, giving me a soft smile.
"Come with me," he said placing his arm around my shoulder, "There's something I want to give to you."
I followed him up the stairs, curious as to what he needed to show me. He led me to his office, a place that was highly off limits for me. It was the only place in the house that I was restricted to, and I didn't dare step inside. I'm quite surprised he actually let me in for once.
"Your mother always wanted you to have this, and I think it's about time that I finally give it to you."
He opened one of the drawers of his desk, and searched quickly for the item he was looking for.
"Hold your hands out and close your eyes," he ordered and I squint my eyes closed with anticipation.
A cool item is placed in my hand and I open my eyes to see a locket. I carefully take the circle in my hands, opening it delicately. Inside is a picture of my mom and I as a child, the other side reads "to the moon and back", something my mom would always say to me when she put me to bed.
I smile softly, and look back up to my uncle. I swallow the lump in my throat and turn around so he could help latch the back of it together.
"I remember her wearing this all the time when I was younger." I smiled looking back at him.
"Each day you are becoming more and more like your mother," he stated as I held onto the necklace that was now laced around my neck. "I hope you know that she would be so proud of the woman you are today."
I nodded my head in agreement.
"Don't let anyone take that spark that you hold within you." He told me, his tone more serious.
