"Now let's discuss your eyes," Deucalion began looking at me, "They are quite devious, those beautiful hazel eyes of yours."
"Obviously," I mumbled while rolling my eyes.
"You can possess people; manipulate them, with only your eyes." He continued, "But to find control you must concentrate, focus on the one person and make them do what you ask. And we're going to start by practicing."
"How am I supposed to do that? You're the only other person here," I pointed out, "Unless you want me to practice on you."
"Well Elaine, it's a good thing I always come prepared." Deucalion smirked while Ennis walked up and passed us with something dragging behind him.
"You brought someone?" I gasped looking at the lifeless human in Ennis' grasp.
"What? Did you think I would let you possess me?" He chuckled darkly. "Silly, little Lainy."
"It's Elaine."
He ignored my comment and continued, "Besides, I wanted to have a little fun with this."
"Is he alive?" I asked.
"Yes, just unconscious at the moment." Deucalion clarified as Ennis began securing the man to the chair. "He should be awake soon, and then us creatures will have some fun."
"Oh, god." I gasped as I began to get a better look at the man. He was tall and lean. His denim jacket was ripped and stained in blood. His shoes looked like they were torn apart by a rapid animal. His face was covered with black and blue bruises and dry blood was chipping off on the side of his face. "What did you do to him?"
"I could have done much worse," Ennis remarked as he stepped back to watch along with Deucalion.
Soon enough, the man began to stir his eyes slowly opening. He looked to Deucalion and then at me.
I narrowed my eyes at him, "What's your name?"
"Taylor," He answered his voice timid and scared. He glared over at Deucalion, "Did you do this to me?" Taylor asked as he tried to move his arms free.
Deucalion kept a smug look on his face, shrugging his shoulders lightly.
"Well I know that she didn't do this," Taylor nodded his head toward me, "She isn't capable to do anything like this."
"What is that supposed to mean?" I asked sharply my eyebrows furrowing in aggravation.
"Oh please, I know who you are Elaine May. We all know who you are." Taylor spat at me, his words sending shivers up and down my spine.
"How do you know me?" I asked slowly, a little more skeptical of who exactly Deucalion kidnapped.
"You're the famous Elaine May Barnes. The Imperium Oculorum."
I turned my head to stare wide eyed at Deucalion, inhaling deeply. He didn't seem affected by this at all- almost as if he knew who he had taken.
"How do you know that?" I asked firmly.
"Aren't you supposed to be dead?" He asked condescendingly.
"So Elaine," Deucalion interrupted holding his hands behind his back and walking closer toward Taylor and I, "Are you going to do what I asked you to, or just stand there like a helpless animal?"
My heart was beating erratically at his words.
"Wait, what is she going to do?"
Deucalion nodded slightly at me, urging me to use my eyes.
I looked back at Taylor, keeping my eye focus directly on him. I watched as he began to squirm as I walked closer to him. I continued trying to steady my breathing as I reached my hand out toward his head. I honestly had no idea what I was doing but whatever it was, it was working. My hands reached his temples as I pressed fingers deeply into them. My eyes were still and focused as I closely watched Taylor.
He began to gargle illogical words that barely sounded human; it was terrifying to watch as he looked as if he was being tortured.
"How do you know me?" I asked once again, my words harsh and loud.
"Please stop," He begged, his eyes wide and worried.
"Tell me!" I yelled.
"Please- you don't have to do this." He whimpered.
"Too late," I smirked staring deeper into his eyes.
He took a breath in sharply and tried to break free. His breathing became more erratic as if he knew what was coming for him. I watched as his eyes began to roll into the back of his head and spit lingered down his chin. He screamed in pain when the blood began to trickle from his eyes. But it didn't faze me; I continued staring deeper into his eyes.
"Now, I'm going to ask you again: How do you know me?" I asked for the third time, pleased with myself.
His face was now completely lifeless, as his body grew even more limp. "Everyone knows of you. They're after you. They're after your power." He answered his voice monotone and dull.
"Who's after me?" I demanded.
"Anyone who can get you." He replied, "They know the strength you have and they want you for themselves." He then choked out, "But they think you're dead."
I gasped, letting go of his temples and watching his eyes close shut and his head falling back. I look down at my shaking hands, completely shocked about what I just did.
"Impressive," Deucalion began to clap walking over toward me.
"Is he going to be-"
"Yeah, he'll be fine." Ennis shrugged.
"Impressive, isn't she Ennis?" Deucalion grinned with pleasure, "Stronger than I anticipated."
I exhaled deeply, bending down to untie the rope Ennis had wrapped around his wrist. I felt guilty for the pain that I made him go through. But at the same time, I liked having that type of control, that type of power.
A sharp pain of a needle plunged into my neck vein, taking me by complete surprise, the sedative kicking into affect.
My limps were numb and frail. Panic began to grow in the pit of my stomach, spreading throughout the rest of my body.
"What are you doing?" I slurred slowly, looking up at a very pleased Deucalion.
"Like I said," Deucalion smirked, "Stronger than I anticipated."
I tried to lift myself up, only to fail as my body collapsed underneath my arms. Whatever that substance was it made me weaker.
Deucalion is completely desperate for power and now I was a pawn in his game.
a/n: oh shit.
