You stumbled out of bed. The cold floor was sending shivers though your body, but you didn't care. You tip-toed to the kitchen to get a drink of water. You saw someone stand in the doorway, which scared the living crap out of you, but you realized that it was Cas.
"Oh, hi, Cas."
"Why are you up at such a late hour?"
You wanted to tell Cas, but it seemed childish.
"Oh, I didn't realize that it was late. You can head back to bed. I'm fine."
"No. You're not fine. You act like something is bothering you."
"Cas I'm fine."
You chugged down a glass of water until Cas picked you up bridal style.
"Put me down!"
"Not until you tell me what is wrong."
You sighed.
"I had a nightmare, OK. Yeah, it seems childish, I know that. But when you've been a hunter all your life, you could kill anything. But you can't kill what's in your head, and that terrifies me Cas. I can't fight them. I can't do it," you said while crying.
He hugged you awkwardly. As long as it helped you, you were fine. And it did."
"Would you like to sleep with me? I mean you don't have too if you don't-"
"Yes. I want to," you said like a little kid.
Cas carried you into his room and laid you down on his bed.
"I'll be here when you wake up. I promise."
You smiled and drifted off to sleep, knowing that there is an angel ready to protect you at all cost.
