It was always Sam, Dean, and Cas on a hunt. You lived with the Winchesters since you were little. You were practically their sister so they wouldn't let you hunt. This hunt was different because they decided to let you help, which left you and Cas in charge of the research.
It was close to midnight and you and Cas were skimming through multiple books and web articles.
"(Y/N), I think you should go to bed," Cas said while looking over and seeing your tired state.
"No, it's fine," you said while yawning. "I just need coffee, which I'm going to get."
You went to the kitchen and fixed yourself, and Cas a cup just in case he needed or wanted it. You walked back into the library and saw the lights off.
"Cas, come on," you whined. "Let me read for a few more hours, I'll be fine."
You heard a sigh and saw the little lamp come back on. "Fine, but promise me you'll go to sleep as soon as you figure it out."
"Yes, promise!"
You sat in your chair and picked up where you left off, reading about multiple bloodthirsty monsters and weird curses. It all fascinated you and you were kinda glad that you weren't fighting the monsters.
It was now three in the morning and you were still going on strong.
"I'm close to finding it Cas, I know it," you sighed as you closed another book and sat it with the others you were done with.
"And you're close to falling asleep. Come on, let's get you to bed."
"Castiel, no!" You screamed as he lifted you up. "Please, a few more minutes."
"No, (Y/N), you need to sleep."
"Please Cas," you whined. "I'm close I know it."
He groaned and sat you back down. "Fine, twenty more minutes, that's it. Stay up longer and I'll force you to fall asleep."
"Thank you, Cas."
In less than ten minutes you were out like a light. You laid your head on the open pages of the book, your mouth was slightly open. Cas let out a little laugh as he saw your state.
"Why are you two still up?" Dean asked.
"She finally went to sleep and I don't. She really wanted to find out what this thing was."
"Just get her to bed. We got to go early tomorrow."
"Her too?" Cas simply asked.
"No. She's not ready yet. We'll let her go eventually but we need to work from the bottom."
"Pishtacos," you mumbled.
Dean and Cas turned their heads towards your sleeping form. Dean had an amused smirk on his lips.
"She got it," Dean whispered.
"You mean you let her stay up for hours looking to find out what this thing was but you knew what it was all along?" Cas growled.
"No, Cas, you both stayed up for hours. You know she likes you. Let's call it a bonding moment."
Cas just rolled his eyes as Dean gave him a pat on the shoulder. You let out a snore, scaring yourself awake.
"I'm up!" You yelled. You looked around the room and saw Dean laughing at you while Cas glared at him. You were almost mad yourself but you realized that it was Dean.
"Oh, Dean, I found it, it's a pishtaco."
"We never thought of that," he groaned, making you smile proudly. "Now get to bed, you need your four hours."
"Ok," you said while sitting your head on the table. "Night."
"You're not sleeping at the table."
"Dean, I'll take her up, just go," Cas whispered.
Cas turned around and saw you out light a light again. He thought it was rude of Dean to make you stay up extremely late, but you did get closer with each other.
"Come on, let's get you to bed," Cas whispered as he picked you up.
He took you up to your room and placed you on your bed. He was about to leave but you grabbed his sleeve.
"Stay, please," you whispered.
He smiled and sat on the side of the bed. "Yeah, anything for you."
"I love you," you whispered before falling back asleep.
"I love you, too."
