Masky turned to you, pointing to a rather large mansion that began to appear in the distance, "We're almost at our destination!"
You squinted, watching as the mansion grew larger every few steps. By the time you were in front of it, the building towered over you.
"Hoodie, you wait with them, I'm going to get Slender." Masky said, earning a thumbs up from the hooded figure next to you. Masky walked up the steps, knocking on the large wooden door. A few seconds passed before it opened, revealing a very pale, thin, and faceless man.
Your eyes widened as you stared up at the man, who also towered over you by several feet. The man frowned, "I asked for Nichols, not this mortal." He said in a disappointed tone. Masky put his hands up, "We know! We didn't get him today and we're sorry that we failed." He said sincerely.
"Yeah, we just recently found them while walking back. They wandered here on accident!" Hoodie added, pushing you slightly so that you were in front of him.
Slender looked down at you, "The only way you could have done that is if you were one of us, or if you had been here before." He stated, putting one of his large hands on your shoulder and turning you slightly to get a better look at you.
"One of us?" You questioned in a confused tone. He ignored you, "Have you been here before?" He turned you again, making you look at him. "Not from what I know."
Masky cleared his throat, "Isn't it impossible for mere mortals to just go from here to there?" He asked the tall man, earning a nod. "You may have not 'woken up' yet.." Slender suggested, raising a brow at you. Hoodie shook his head, "Even if they were destined to be one of us, they can't ever until the awakening."
"Look, I can leave if my being here troubles you.." You said nervously, looking from each of the three. Slender shook his head, "No.. I need to figure this out.. You.. Seem familiar." He muttered before looking to his door, "Come on in you three, I might figure this out over a cup of tea."
You followed the three men into the mansion, looking around. The house was dimly lit, having a dark aura to it. You walked into the living room, sitting down on the couch between Masky and Hoodie.
Slender walked into the kitchen before returning with a tray. He set it down, handing you, Masky, and Hoodie cups of tea. You looked down at yours, watching as the ripples moved within the glass. "It isn't drugged, you are fine." Hoodie said, sipping his. You held your cup to your chin, inhaling the scent before taking a sip.
Slender took a sip as well, his pale face's mouth forming from the white skin 'ripping' apart only to come back together, similar to when you rip puddy apart and push it back together.
"So.. Who exactly are you." He questioned, setting his cup down. "And I don't just mean your name. What is your life like?" He added. You looked down, "Well.. I'm F/N L/N, I was found on my parent's steps as a baby and got adopted by them soon after, I'm an only child, I currently go to West Point College-"
"Wait, go back.." Slender frowned, "Found on the steps?" He questioned. You nodded, "They have no idea who my birth family is. All they said was that I was wrapped in a blanket and was laying in a large basket with a note on it." You explained, fiddling your fingers.
Slender was silent for a few minutes before standing, "Excuse me for a second, I need to get something.." He said politely before walking away. You looked down, "Did I say something wrong..?" You questioned. Masky looked at you, "I actually have no clue. He only tells us so much about before he started taking in Proxies." He replied before turning his head to look at where Slender had walked off to, "I think he went to his room."
"Proxy? What's that?" You asked. Hoodie sighed, "It's like a student. You may learn more about it later, you may not." He answered.
Slender walked back into the room, a slip of paper in his hand. He sat down once again, "Did they ever show you the paper that was on your basket?" He questioned, earning a nod from you, "It was a symbol of some sort. A circle with an ex through it." You explained, feeling Masky and Hoodie suddenly tense up next to you.
Slender held up the paper, revealing just that. You held your heart drop, "H-how.."
"I found you here when you were an infant." Slender said, handing you the paper. You stared down at it, your eyes watering slightly at the rush of emotions, "Y-you..?"
Slender nodded, "And I'm sorry but I have no idea whom your parents are nor their current status." He informed, studying your reactions, "I left you on their steps so that you could live a normal life. But it appears that you were destined to come back at one point or another." He said as he took another sip of tea.
You handed him back the paper, wiping the tears from your cheeks as you calmed yourself down. Masky looked at the tall man, "Wait, so.. Let me get this straight.. You basically saved Y/N and are seeing them for the first time since then?" He questioned, earning a nod from Slender.
"Part of me wanted to keep you here all those years but I didn't want to force you to live how we do." He stated, putting a hand on your shoulder.
"I-it's fine, I understand. Kind of.." You muttered. Hoodie turned to Slender, "So is Y/N staying with us now that they know?" He asked. You looked up at Slender, also wanting to know the answer. He frowned, "It depends. Either we have you move in with us or we kill you."
"What?!" You squeaked, eyes wide. Slender looked at you sternly, sending shivers down your spine. You gulped, "I.. I don't really want to die..?" You muttered, shrinking back a little. He nodded, "Welcome home."
