I hear the ding of my email and I slip out of Hawks arms. "Playtime is over, lover bear, we have work to do." I wink at him. I always want a nap after Hawk makes love to me, but there is no time right now. I look at him all stretched out in my bed with just a sheet over his hips and I want to jump right back in with him, he is perfect. However, there is an evil that needs be taught a lesson and we need a solid plan. I toss on my clothes and run a brush through my hair as I toss it into a ponytail. I check my email and Carlos has come through, I knew he would.
"Let's go get these plans printed up and we can start planning our attack." I say as I walk out in the hall and head to the living room where Frank's printer is. Everyone but Hawk and Kyle are in the living room chatting.
"Ok, Angel, what do ya got?" Frank asks as I hook up his printer and start printing the plans.
" I called in a favor from a reliable source and I have the blueprints for the club. We are going to have to figure out a solid plan for me to get in and out with the minimum damage to any innocents. I am going to have to be quick, clean, and precise on my movements if I am going to get close enough to Dennis without raising his suspicions. I believe a surprise attack is the best strategy." I say to the whole room as Hawk and Kyle enter, finally.
"Wait, are you thinking about going in alone? Because that is not even happening." Kyle says seriously. "I can understand why you would think that you might get away with that but seriously, E.J., it ain't gonna work. There is an army in there, you are one person and as incredible as you are, you are going to need backup."
"He is right, sweetheart, no solo missions. We are a team. Plus, fighting demons is kinda what I do. However, Levi, Frank, Diamond, Tony and Brian have to stay out of this fight anyway. So that leave a team of four." Gabe says in full on commander mode.
"Right again, my dear. I cannot get involved. The balance has to be maintained by those assigned to the task. There are rules in place that forbid it. The guardians could technically fight, but it is unwise, as they are mortal and would most likely die. Kyle and Gabe are tasked, like you, with keeping the balance. Kyle is an elite fighter with the knowledge and skill necessary to help in this mission as is Gabe, however, I am unsure your mate is. I know he can fight, but should he lose his head, all is lost." Levi tell me solemnly.
"No way am I letting you do this without me, E.J. Look I know you are a badass and all that, but I can behead demons like nobody's business. I am not going to sit here and worry about your safety when I can fight at your side, like I am supposed to." Hawk is practically yelling.
"Slow your roll, Cuddles. I see what you are saying but I also can't lose you." I tell Hawk with a smirk. "There has to be away to protect you so I don't have to worry about you losing your head."
"Well, there is a way to make him immortal, like you. However, I'm not sure if you want to do it. It is forever. I know that you are in love but forever's a long time." Levi says thoughtfully.
"Hey, no one is selling you their soul, Gramps, got it?" I tell him while giving him the evil eye.
He laughs, "No need, E.J., this is something you do, not me. I have nothing to do with it. He has to drink your blood. Then, nothing can kill him, ever."
"Wait, am I a vampire?" I ask.
"No, but the process is almost the same, except he doesn't die." Levi says. I look at Gabe and Kyle and they are both nodding encouragingly.
"He bit me when we mated, why didn't that change him then?" I ask, this is so confusing.
"I don't care what I have to do, I want to by your side forever. I love you more than anything." Hawk tells me with conviction.
"It wasn't enough. You need to cut open an artery and he must drink until he can't drink anymore. You will be weak for about an hour, but you will both be fine after that and then your mate will be part bear, part angel, and part demon." Levi says with a smile.
