Angel

Chapter 41- E.J.

They all look at me in shock after Levi tells them about the demon I killed. 

"That must be why God decided to give you your gifts" Uriel wonders out loud. Gabe and Raphael nod. 

I shrug, "He did't explain why, but I guess that's the perks of being God." They all laugh.

 "Ok, now we need a plan to stop Dennis." Hawk says and we all agree. 

"I vote we eat first." I suggest. I look at Bernard, "What are your plans?" 

He grins, "I would love to be your humble servant." He bows. I give a 'help me' look to Levi, who starts laughing. 

"My dear girl, it appears you have gained another follower. Bernard is a good man, despite being a demon. I trust him."

 I nod, "That is good enough for me, you can stay, Bernard." 

Gabe chuckles, "We are quite the team, three ARC Angels, A bear, two demons, Satan,two guardians, and a half demon half angel warrior." We all laugh. 

"Ok, now food, PLEASE" I beg and we all head to the kitchen.

After a filling meal, we begin planning. "Dennis isn't here in Indiana anymore, but I am not sure where he is now. I feel his evil but it is coming from the northwest." I tell the team and they all slip into deep thought, then Bernard speaks. 

"I overheard him talking about recruiting some important people. Humans in great power." I gasp.

 "He is in DC, he is recruiting people in the government. That slimy bastard." 

Levi speaks next, "There are actually demons in the government. I placed them there to keep an eye on things. I will give them a call. E.J. you should call some of your contacts and see if they know anything." I nod and head off to my room to make a few calls.

My first call is to Grant. "E.J., I haven't heard from you in forever, how are things?" He booms when he answers. 

"Grant, I would love to catch up, but I have bigger problems then you being out of the loop. There is a man, a very bad man, trying to recruit people in high positions to do very bad things. Have you heard anything?" I hear him sigh.

 "Yes, actually, there was a man here to see the director yesterday, Dennis something. He gave off a very creepy vibe. I didn't like him or the way he kept looking at people. So, I have been keeping an eye on him. He has been to all the major players here in DC. What is going on E.J.?" It's my turn to sigh.

 "Grant, he has a plan that if I tell you, you will think I am nuts. But believe me when I say, it is bad, very very bad." I rub my temples. 

"You mean like end of days bad? Like call your friends, the Angels, bad?" I gasp.

 "What do you mean by that?" He chuckles.

 "I am a guardian, I have know what you are, or at least had a good idea, since you were recruited. That is why I agreed to work with you, train you, that way no one else would know. Come up here and I will help. bring whatever team you have and we will stop this." I am so relieved. 

"You got it Grant, I will be there asap." I hang up and join the others to tell them what I know and see what Levi found out.

When I tell them about my conversation with Grant, they are all happy to know that we have another person on our side.

 "I am going to stay back here with Diamond, she isn't doing too well and I am worried about her." Frank tells us and I nod.

 "OK, guys, pack your shit, we need to leave asap." I tell them and they all head to pack. I call to make sure that the plane is ready to go and we are loaded and flying to DC with in an hour. To say that the flight was tense would be an understatement. We were all lost in our own thoughts, no one speaking the whole flight.

 When we land, Grant is waiting with a large SUV. I greet him and we all load up and head to his house, it is bigger than my apartment. He lives alone so I never understood why he has such a big house, but whatever. We reach his house and all go inside. 

"Grant this is my team. Gabe, Uriel, and Raphael are ARC angels. Kyle and Bernard are demons. Brian is a guardian, Levi is, um, well, Satan, and Hawk is a bear and my mate." Grant nods at each, but is shocked by the last two. He clears his throat.

 "Well that is quite a team, E.J., but you always did attract the best. I never thought I would have Satan or angels or demons in my home, but what the hell, Welcome." I laugh. 

"Grant, you crack me up. Now, we need to get a move on, Dennis is big trouble." He gives me the 'explain' look and we all launch into the story of the prophecy and what I am. When we were done, a huge smile break free on his face. 

"I KNEW IT! I knew you were special! Ha!" I shake my head at him. We all start hatching out our plan, Levi tells us the Dennis has visited all but two of his people and they have turned him down flat, but honestly in my opinion, demons aren't the one's I am worried about, humans are far more evil.

"OK, tomorrow, we will split up and visit contacts and informants. Lets get some rest people." I tell them and we all follow Grant as he shows us our rooms. Once in our room, Hawk pulls me into his arms.

 "I love you, E.J. I loved your green eyes and long auburn hair, but those violet eyes are beautiful and the hair, I will get used to. All I mean is no matter what you look like, I will always love you and think that you are beautiful." He kisses me deeply and I melt into him. We cuddle up in bed and our hands roam, then our mouths. I will never get enough of him making love to me.

Morning comes and we all have our assignments. The angels have their list, Levi, Bernard and Kyle have a list, Brian is going with Grant and Hawk and I have our own list. Dennis is going down and he won't even know what hit him. Prick nuts!
