Annabeth and Miranda were going over defense plans for their prides land from the recent onslaught of monsters that have been popping up out of nowhere for the past few weeks. They had to figure out the most effective way to protect the house, the barn and the crops. They didn't have enough people for a constant watch so their only option was to build some sort of barrier around the land.

Just as Annabeth was starting to sketch out a design for the barrier Miranda would build, Silena rushed in.

"Annabeth, we've got a pack of hellhounds on a rampage. They've already destroyed all the crops." Silena said gasping for air. Annabeth shot up from her seat.

"What? Why didn't you tell me when they first got here?" She demanded.

"We couldn't. They appeared in the fields and then attacked us. We had no time. I just now got a chance." Silena explained. "But there's no time. We need to go help!"

Silena ran out of the room with Annabeth and Miranda on her heels. When they got to the fields Calypso, Drew and Thalia were fighting against at least 30 hellhounds. Calypso, Piper and Drew were all trying to kill three hellhounds each, but they were quickly tiring. Thalia was working on keep the other hounds away from the three shifters from her position in the air above them. As they watched, 10 hellhounds slipped from Thalia's reach and barreled through the barn. The building fell down as soon as they exited the other side. Annabeth gasped.

"No! Fall back! Retreat!" Annabeth yelled. "We can't take them! We need to run!"

The four girls currently fighting turned and ran towards Annabeth, Silena and Miranda.

"Silena go to the house, grab supplies and anything else that we could need. We'll hold them off outside until you're done. Thalia! Go with her!" Annabeth ordered. Silena was the fastest shifter here, being a cheetah, and Thalia was the only one who could keep up. Silena shot off towards the house and Thalia followed in the air.

Annabeth turned to make sure everyone was with them. She gasped. Drew had stayed back to distract the hellhounds. One of the hellhounds had snuck up behind her and slashed her across the back. She fell. The hellhounds descended on her. She didn't get back up.

Miranda screamed and ran after Drew. Annabeth grabbed her before she could get too far.

"Annabeth! We can't just leave-" Annabeth interrupted Miranda.

"I'm sorry, Miranda, but we have to. We can't protect ourselves here anymore." She shook her head. "Let's go." The hell hounds were getting closer and they needed to run. They ran as fast as they could to the house and they found that Silena had already gotten everything that she could. Everyone grabbed a backpack and took off into the woods.

They had finally managed to shake the hellhounds off their tail an hour ago and they were looking for a place to camp for a few hours. They stopped in a small clearing in the mountains north of their house. They were all exhausted. They had sprinted through a forest, across a grassy plain and up a mountain.

"Thalia and Piper." Annabeth called. "I need you to set up the sleeping bags and set up a fire."

"I'll get some food ready." Calypso said. Annabeth nodded. She was going to radio the Blood Moon Pack and ask for a place to stay.

"Percy? Artemis? Come in. This is Annabeth Chase speaking. Do you copy?" She waited a moment. Nothing. Before she could try again, the radio crackled and someone spoke.

"I copy. This is Triton. Artemis and Percy are unavailable at this moment. Over." Annabeth growled.

"I don't care. I don't have much time. This is important. I need to speak to your alpha or beta. Put them on the walkie." She snarled into the walkie talkie. The radio crackled some more before a different voice came on.

"Percy speaking. Annabeth, I hope this is important. There's a fight I need to break up before it gets bad."

"Well, excuse me. I'm sorry but my home was just attacked and destroyed. I am in no mood for politeness, Jackson." She ground out.

"Oh my gods, Annabeth, I'm so sorry. Are you okay? Where are you? I'll send back up to escort you back here."

"No, Percy, that's not necessary. We are fine. We just need a place to stay." Annabeth was surprised at his concern.

"No. I'm sending Clarisse, Triton and Grover. Clarisse and Triton are out best fighters and Grove is our best navigator. They'll get you here in one piece." He paused. "Plus, our pack house isn't there anymore."

"Percy, what are you talking about?" Annabeth question.

"It doesn't matter. Tell me your location." Annabeth told him the coordinates of their makeshift camp.

"Okay. Expect them in three hours." The walkie clicked, signaling that Percy had signed off.

Annabeth sighed.
