Lauren POV

It was the next Monday, y/n and I were released from the hospital last Tuesday. It's frustrating and panic inducing because I haven't seen or talked to her since.
My parents had gotten me a new phone and a new number. I gave y/n my number expecting her to use it, not waste it.

Anyway, it was Monday and my parents decided it would best for me to get back to school. Not only because I've missed a lot and need to catch up, but they also thought it'd be good for me to get back on my normal schedule. I'll save you from most of the boring details and just give you a run-down of how it went.

I showed up with my friends. All eyes were on me and it was super uncomfortable. People whispered and gossiped about what they thought happened to me. I heard the most bizarre ideas from students in the hallway; anything from me dropping out of high school to being pregnant and going to get it 'terminated'. Some people got it right - I was kidnapped and held in basement. That was the most common story that was told.

The only people who really know what happened are y/n and I.

First period went by painfully slow. And so did second period. My teachers gave me as little work as possibly could. There were sympathetic looks all around. Third period, no one really talked, they mostly just stared. Lunch rolled around and it was all the same. Whisper. Whisper. Whisper.

Dinah and Normani threatened to beat up the best person that looked at me the wrong way. Which didn't help, because well, they can't beat up everybody. I broke down in fourth period and got sent home. Dinah ditched and walked me home.

When we got to my house, I took a quick, hot shower. Then Dinah and I cuddled up in my bed for a short nap. And now, we're sitting on the floor of my living room, surrounded by pillows, blankets, and junk food while watching Netflix.

We were in the middle of watching The Interview when someone had rung my doorbell. Dinah and I exchanged looks before pausing the movie.

"Do you want me to get it?" Dinah asked, after neither of us made a move.

I shook my head. "No I got it." I got up from my comfortable position and went to my front door. The person on the other side would not stop ringing the doorbell.

I opened it. "What?!" I snapped, annoyed at the lack of patience. I almost immediately regretted it when I saw it was y/n on the other side.

"Oh, uh is this a bad time 'cause I can come back tomorrow or. . . Next week or something." She was clearly nervous, I could tell because she kept playing with her fingers.

"No no no," I said quickly, grabbing her hand so she shouldn't leave. "It's not a bad time, come on in." I stepped back to let her in then closed the door behind her.

"Nice place." She commented, looking around the house.

"Thanks. Uh. . . This might be a weird question, but how did you know where I live?" I asked. I never gave her my address, so I was curious.

"Your friend, Camila showed up at my house a few days ago and told me to stop by." She explained as we walked further into the house.

"How did Camila find out where you live?"

She shrugged. "I was kind afraid to find out."

I took her up to my bedroom. We just talked and laughed with each other. And I somehow managed to completely forget about Dinah waiting for me downstairs. We were both sitting criss-cross on my bed, facing each other.

"This might be a weird question to ask," I started, looking down at my hands. "But, why haven't you called or texted me?" I ask, looking up into her beautiful y/e/c eyes.

"I don't have a phone at the moment." She said simply. "That freak took my phone when he took me and I haven't had the chance to get a new one." She explained further.

"Oh, for a second I thought you didn't want to talk to me and I just-"

"Of course I wanna talk to you." She cut me off, moving a strand of my hair back behind my ear. "Look, I'm pretty sure you already know this but I really really really like you." She took my hands into hers. "But I'm waiting for you to end things with your boyfriend before I make a move."

"I'm working on it, I promise." I wasn't actually working on breaking up with Brad. In fact, I totally forgot about him these past few days.

"Good." Was all she said before pressing her lips on mine. I felt all that cliche shit and more explode in my stomach.

When she pulled away, I moved to sit on her lap. She didn't stop me so I assumed it was okay. I kissed her again. And again. And again. And again. I just couldn't get enough of this girl.

We made out for a full ten minutes before my bedroom door flew open. There stood Dinah with her arms crossed.

"There you are! You went to answer the door and never came back. I thought something happened and here you are making out with her." She rolled her eyes.

"Sorry we just-" she cut me off.

"Whatever." Dinah scoffed. "I don't need your excuses. We have a movie to finish." She walked over to me, grabbed my arm and dragged me out of the room so we could finish the movie.
