Your POV
"Do you really have to go?" Lauren questioned. She pouted and wrapped her arms around my waist.
"Yes, it's getting late. I should get home soon." I explained, kissing her forehead.
"It's already late. Stay for tonight."
As much as I wanted to stay, I couldn't. I promised my parents I'd be home tonight. They're always worrying about me nowadays and if I don't go home my mom would probably have a heart attack. Even if I called her and told her I'd be staying with Lauren, she would probably wait up all night until I got home.
"I'm sorry, Laur but I really do need to go." I kissed the top of her head.
She nodded softly and let me go. I could tell she was disappointed with me not staying. We had a short but sweet goodbye-make-out-session then said our goodbyes and I love you' s.
I began my walk back home. It was already dark but my house was only about a mile and a half from Lauren's which wasn't too bad. The main roads were almost empty, which was surprising to see because it wasn't even past midnight yet.
To keep myself somewhat entertained, I took out my phone and my earphones and played music. I kept one earphone out, just so I could hear what was going on around me. Something didn't feel right about tonight, and I wanted to be as aware of my surroundings as I could be.
*really fucking short but at least now I know where I'm going with this*
