"Alright class, projects are due next Tuesday. I expect you to finish them over the weekend, and do your very best on them." Mr. Calvin said while walking in circles around the class. Just as he was about to say something else, The bell rang.

"Class dismissed, Have a great weekend everyone!" He said while walking towards his desk.

"You too." A few students said while rushing out.

"Melanie, Can I speak with you a moment?" Mr.Calvin said while taking papers out of his desk.

"Oh, uh sure," I said while packing up the rest of my stuff. I stood up, swung my backpack over my shoulder, And walked over to his desk to see what he needed.

"I was wanting to let you know that you got the highest score on last weeks math test, I am very proud of you Miss Martinez." He smiled handing me the test paper.

"Thank you Mr.Calvin, I did try my best on it." I shrugged with a smile.

"I do hope you keep up the good work." He grinned. "How are you doing on your project?" He asked while cleaning his whiteboard.

"It's going great so far," I said putting my paper into my bag. "I just gotta do the finishing touches this weekend."

"Well I sure cant wait to see it, I know it will turn out great." He said.

"Thank you Mr.Calvin." I said with a huge grin.

"Have a good weekend." He said as I started heading for the door.

"Oh, you too!" I walked out into the hall.

Mr.Calvin was the only person who ever tried to encourage me to keep going in life. I've never been more motivated by anyone but him.

I started heading down the hallway to the main stairs to go to lunch, It wasn't so crowded which was a good thing. I walked downstairs and headed to the lunch line while spotting Beth and her group staring at me from afar.

I ignored them and grabbed a tray and got everything I wanted, Paid for my food, And walked towards the corner of the cafeteria.

Melanie sits in the way back of the cafeteria away from others. If she ever tried sitting with anyone, they would all groan and grab their trays and walk to another table.

I sat down and started hogging my food, As I was taking a bite of my sandwich, I noticed a mysterious blonde boy looking in my direction I caught him looking at me and he shyly waved at me and gave me a short smile, I waved back but I was really confused who he was.

I've never seen him around before at this school, or anywhere, I wondered why he was looking at me like that.

I let it go and continued eating my lunch, and a few minutes later I saw Beth and her minions start to head my way.

"Hey, little freak." She sat across from me. "Sitting alone again today?" She turned to her group and giggled.

"What do you want Beth?" I glared at her

"I just saw you sitting alone and I thought I'd drop by to say hi! You seemed very lonely" She said while pouting sarcastically.

"Could you just leave?" I said sternly.

"Oh right, We should give the little cry baby some alone time, We don't want to make her whine." She said while standing up out of the chair. She then grabbed my juice and started walking off with her group.

"Um that's my juice, I paid for it." I stood up. She turned around angrily and started walking back to me.

"Oh my gosh, it is? I am so sorry, Here." She said handing it to me.
