"Saddest girl she has to be. Salty tears stream down her cheek. Her heart's bigger than her body. Her name is Crybaby"
This is a story of a girl who was different from everybody else, She was all on her own, She lost all her friends, She was alway...
Patiently waiting for class to end, I tapped my pencil against the desk, swung my small legs underneath, completely zoned out; My heart felt like a crushed candy cane.
I still had Austin on my mind, It's been a few days since I last saw him at the carnival and I hadn't seen him all day, I figured he would've had to be at school; From what he told me a while ago, he just moved here.

"Miss Martinez, Do you happen to know the answer to number 7 from last nights homework?" Mr.Calvin said in a teasing tone, knowing I was half asleep not listening.
I snap my eyes open and out of my thoughts and look up to see Mr.Calvin pointing his pointer to the question on the whiteboard, He tapped his foot as he was losing his patience.
"Oh! Um." I picked up my homework sheet as I batted my eyes to wake up, and read over the question. "For number 7, after distributing, I got 12x^4+4x^3+10," I said nervously.
"Very good Melanie, but next time, try not to doze off in my class." He grinned.
"Yes, sir." I sighed and sat my paper back down, a little embarrassed.
"Alright, James, can you tell us what you got for number 8?" Mr. Calvin said looking in the back.

There was no sign of Austin anywhere, He never came to his locker, He never came to my table at lunch, nothing.
I teared up as I walked home, passing his house that he told me about, he also lived near the school but it was a few streets away from my house.
I was really considering walking to his porch and knocking the door, but I held myself back from it, I couldn't keep chasing after him like this.
I saw dark clouds heading in my direction, so I glanced at it one last time and started my way down the sidewalk to my house.
After walking down a few streets I finally reached my house, I knocked on the door to see if Trent or someone would answer, but no response, I knocked again, still no answer.
I finally grabbed the spare key under the mat, twisted it in the lock and finally the door opened. I looked around as I walked in, the house was completely silent.
"Hello?" I shouted. "Mother? Trent? I'm home!" I shouted once more, nobody responded.
I sat my backpack down and then noticed a note was sitting on the dining room table.
I walked towards the table and grabbed the note, it read-
"Dear Melanie, I had to run a few errands, and Your brother had to stay back for his football practice, we won't be home till late, please behave yourself, sincerely Mother."
I shrugged my shoulders and sat it back down, "Why would Trent's coach make them stay back for football practice when the weather report called for rain today?" I thought, I brushed it off and walked to the kitchen to grab some cookies and milk.
As I poured the milk into a cup, I looked up and it was drizzling rain outside, raindrops slid down the window at a slow pace, it was so peaceful.
I put the milk carton back in the fridge, grabbed my cup of milk and plate of cookies and ran upstairs trying not to spill a thing.
-
"Yeah, I think these lyrics will work!"
I played a few chords on my guitar as I wrote down some lyrics that popped in my head while I took sips of my milk and bites from my cookies, I knew it was bad to sing after having anything with milk or chocolate in it but I didn't have a care in the world.

I loved writing songs, I just never could think of anything good to write down, I wrote one song about how emotional I am and how I don't care anymore of what people thought, and I also wrote about my family life behind closed doors, and I just finished another song about my moms way of forgetting fathers infidelity.
I still wonder throughout the day why he never came home, I sometimes missed him no matter how much he didn't pay much attention to us.
Just as I was writing down a few lyrics to a new song, I heard a doorbell ring coming from downstairs. It startled me a little bit, but I calmed myself down.
I was a little nervous to go answer it, considering mother said they would all be home later than usual. Maybe Trent's coach cut practice short due to the rain or maybe mother got her errands done earlier than expected, It couldn't be anyone else, right?
I left my room towards the stairs and slowly walked down them, Once I reached the door I took a deep breath and turned the knob to see who it was.
There stood in front of me wasn't my mother, it wasn't my brother either.
"Austin?"
