If you're writing a book, don't stop at ten chapters. I understand if it's supposed to be a short story or if it's discontinued, but if you're planning to write a book, make sure it's completed with at least 15+ chapters. This is really annoying especially if the story has a lot of action, suspense, mystery, etc. and the book is over at chapter 7, and then the author writes a second book. I'm pretty sure you can fit the second book into the first one if it's about the same topic.
E.g. Say the main character dies in chapter 10 and that's the end of the book. Then the author will say something like this:
A/N: omg I can't believe this book is already over!!! Stay tuned for the next book to see what happens next!!!
If the second book is going to have the same amount if chapters, I'm pretty sure you can fit it into the first book.
