Parker's P.O.V.

It has been the whole entire school day. Charlotte left for the week a few hours ago. I wish it was me. Last year, the boys and I were researching about Easton High. We all thought it was going to be me. The things we found out about E.H. was horrific.

I wanted to trade places with Charlotte. But, Coach wouldn't let me. Easton High chose who they want already. Trust me, if I could trade places with Charlotte, I would. I would do it a thousand times and more if It meant saving Charlotte from them.

I sat on the bench, with my elbows on my knees. I had been sitting here on the empty field. Practice was long over. I stayed back to practice more. But, instead I started to think about Charlotte again.

Charlotte has been clouding my mind ever since she tried our for the soccer team. Yes, I knew who she was. How could I forget the look on her face when she won State over us?

I hear footsteps against the gravel. Lifting my head from my arms I look towards the sound. Bryson was standing next to me. He gives me a look of pity before sitting down next to me.

"You have to tell her eventually." Bryson says.

"What do you mean?" I lie. I knew exactly what he meant. But, how did he know? I had never told him before.

"Parker, I am your best friend. Did you really think I wouldn't know about your crush on Charlotte?" Bryson says.

"You know I can't tell her. She doesn't feel the same way." I respond.

"You better make a move then. Charlotte is in your hands. The ball is in your court. Do something before she slips out of your hands." Bryson says.

What the hell does that mean? I shake my head as I watch Bryson leave. How did he know? Am I that obvious?

But sure as hell I miss her. The way she laughs as if there was no tomorrow. If the world went dark, Charlotte's smile would light up the darkness. I can't help but admire her from afar.

She wouldn't like me, though. Parker Elliot, the cocky, athlete, who is a womanizer. This school gave me a stereotypical role. But, they don't know me. What I am sure of is Charlotte heard about my past days. She would be running miles away if I told her I liked her.

I get up from the metal bench and make my way to the student parking lot. Everyone left, there was no sound in the school. I sigh as I get into my car. My biggest hope was to have Charlotte as my girlfriend. But fate doesn't work that way. Fate wouldn't let me get the girl I like.

I pull up into the concrete driveway. I sigh in relief when I see another car in the driveway. Mom was home. But, that meant...

I jump out my car and alarm it. Jogging, I make my way to the front door and jiggle the key in. "Hello?" I yell throughout the house.

I hear a giggle from the kitchen. My hands cover my mouth as I tip toe to the kitchen. I tackle the familiar girl that was sitting on the counter.

"Why are you here!" I exclaim.

"What, you don't want me here?" She accused.

"No, no, no! It's not like that, I am just shocked to see you here." I say.

"I could see it in the paper already. Maddie Elliot is back in town!" Maddie says.

"Maddie, why are you here?" I ask.

Maddie's smile turns falters into frown. "I got out of rehab."

My smile increases, "Maddie! That's so great! Why are you sad about it? Where's mom?" I question.

Maddie holds her hands up in defense. "Woah there buddy. One question at a time, please. There was this girl there, she was very kind. She also was my best friend. Mom is just outside." Maddie answers.

Mom left with Maddie when she went to rehab. Mom stayed in a little apartment close to there so she could visit Maddie and see how she was doing. I detach myself from Maddie and run outside to our backyard.

Mom turns to me and smiles. "Hello, pumpkin!"

"Hi, Mom!" I say as I run into her arms. "I missed you."

"Oh, dear. I missed you too. I cannot wait to see your game this week!" Mom says.

My smile falters when I remember. Charlotte was on the other team. Charlotte is going to help them win. Not that I have faith in our team. But, Easton High cheats and plays dirty. Every single time we played against them, one of our teammates gets injured. The referees don't even do anything about it!

Mom sees my lips in a tight line. Her face fills with worry and concern. "Whats wrong, honey?" Mom says. Her eyes meet mine and she smirks. "Oh my lord! Maddie come here! Your brother is in love!" Mom says in a sing song voice.

Maddie rushes over to us with a ecstatic smile on her face. "Little Parker is in love? Who? Can we have her over for dinner tonight? Did you ask her to be your girlfriend already?" Maddie gushes.

"No, no, no, no." I repeat.

We sat down in the living room. I smile as I talk about her, "Her name is Charlotte Evans. She is on the soccer team and is Co-Captain with me. No, she isn't my girl friend yet."

"Then, why did you get so upset when I told you about this week's game?" Mom asks.

"You know the tradition of San Francisco High switching players? Charlotte had to go to Easton High. We got Tristan in replace of her." I speak, sadly.

Maddie smirks, "I have two friends in Easton High. Their name is Daniel and Ryan. Daniel is known for manipulating girls. But, Ryan is more of a sweetheart when you meet him. Right as you turn your back, he flips a switch and becomes a mean spirited person."

"And you are telling me this, because?" I trail off.

"You idiot! I said I am friend with Daniel, right? So I follow him on snapchat, and follow him on twitter and stuff. On his snapchat story, he posted a picture with Charlotte. So, you better get your butt over to Charlotte's house." Maddie says.

"Oh." I say as I look down. The words process in my head. Oh shit! Daniel is going to steal my girl. "I gotta go!" I say in a rush.

"You go get your girl!" Mom cheers.

I go back in my car and speed over to Charlotte's house. My tense body softens when I see her car in the driveway. Time to make mu move! Operation : Get #Charker together!
