I slam my locker door shut and roll my eyes as I try to fish in the lock. I turn to the side and come face to face with a sharp jawline. My breath gets taken away and I look up. It was Nathan. I roll my eyes before adjusting my backpack and turning the other way.
In the mindset of this, an arm tugs at my wrist, pulling me into a hard chest. I push Nathan back and give him a hard stare. "What do you want?" I quiz.
Nathan feigns a ponder and looks up to the corner. "Well, I do want a small loan of a million dollars." Nathan says.
"Oh shut up. I swear, I will bitch slap you and leave if you do not tell me what is going on." I say when he attempts to hold my wrist again.
"Do you want to go out with me tonight?" Nathan asks.
I raise my eyebrow in response, did he really have the audacity to ask me out on a date? Well, to give him props, no one ever really have the courage to ask me out. "So, a date?" I ask, my tone still flat.
"Only if you want it to be." Nathan says in a cocky tone.
I lift my other eyebrow, and copy his movements. "Only if you stop acting like a fuck boy." I mock.
"And it is a yes!" Nathan screams. He turns to the person behind him and grabs the girls' shoulders. "She said yes!"
I slap his shoulder and pull him back. I send an apologetic smile to the girl who had a mortified look on her face. "It is not a date." I hiss at him.
Nathan puts on his charming smile. There was no doubt in me that Nathan had used the charm with any girl. "I take what I could get." He says, still smiling.
After school, I drive my way to the hospital. If I could get at least ten minutes with Parker, I would be ecstatic. Feelings are weird. I did notice my feeling for Parker. But, when I heard he was in the hospital everything just changed.
I look at the waiting room to see Maddie and Sophia crying into each others arms. I run over to them, and slide onto my knees. "What happened?" I rush out. I immediately come to conclusion that something happened to Parker.
A hand softly touches my shoulder, causing me to jump like a cat. I look over my shoulder to see Dr. Tom. I turn to her in distress. "What happened." I repeat.
"Listen, Parker will not wake up." Dr Tom enunciates slowly.
"W-What do you mean?" I furrow my eyebrows.
"Parker has been given medicine to go into a medically induced coma." Dr Tom says.
And thats when my world broke down.
I sit in the car, tears streaming down my face. Parker wouldn't wake up. "Why." I mumble to no one in particular. I look up to the roof of my car and scream in fury. "Why not me! Why Parker!"
"Why do you always have to do something horrible to the people I love.." I bellow, my voice level faltering as I start to realize what I said.
I love Parker? Why didn't I notice before? I thought it was just some school crush but now, it is way different. I can see my feelings crystal clear. But, how could I tell him? He is in a coma, could he hear me?
I shake my head before driving back to my house. When I got to my home, I immediately collapse on the bed. I groan as I hear the annoying ringtone of my phone.
"Hello?" I grumble.
"Charlotte! Where are you, you are thirty minutes late!" Nathan screams in my ear.
"I just- I can't go. Something happened." I say, my voice crackling.
I hear Nathan curse under his breath. "Where are you?" He asks.
"You know, casually laying on my bed." I say.
It was only minutes later after the end of Nathan and I's call when I heard the doorbell ring. "Come in!" I scream, hoping Nathan would hear.
I hear the door open and close. "Up here." I say. Nathan's footsteps pound onto the wood steps. The door to my bedroom creaks open, and Nathan stands there with cup of noodles. I give him a confused look.
"Whenever I felt sad, or something happened, my grandmother use to heat up cup of noodles and give it to me." Nathan explains.
I slowly reach out for the cup of noodles and laugh at the forks design. "Dora? Are you joking me?" I say with a small giggle.
"Well, Dora is my girlfriend so.." He shrugs.
I feign a gasp. "I did not know that! I thought Diego was her boyfriend!" I say.
Nathan laughs at my comment. "Diego is her cousin. You obviously do not love Dora the way I do!" He rants.
I laugh so much my stomach starts to hurt. "I am crying." I rush out. Tears were coming out of my eyes. Happy tears this time.
"I'm sorry I replaced your boyfriend." Nathan says after the moment of silence.
"He isn't my boyfriend." I laugh nervously.
"Seems like it. I bet I could guess how your relationship is going." Nathan says.
"Oh really?" I say, totally not believing him.
"Parker, is it?" I nod. "Parker and you are complicated. You both have feelings for each other but you haven't realized it or you are just too scared to tell each other. I am guessing you were a child who was neglected and do not know what to do what to do with these feelings. Only because your Mom and Dad abandoned you. You are scared if you express your feelings you will-" Nathan stops as I hold up my finger.
"I get it." I say, my voice not above a whisper.
"I bet I could change those feelings." Nathan says cocky.
I chuckle at his reply. "I seriously doubt it."
For the rest of the time, we watched cringe complications.
