My first practice with my new team for the week is right now. I was standing in my usual outfit that I use to work out. It would be extremely awkward if I were to wear my team's uniform. I sat on the cold steel bench. No one was here. The field was completely empty and quiet. I couldn't hear a thing.
"Charlotte?" I hear someone call my name. My thoughts twist, who could that be? I had been sitting out here for over thirty minutes. I had just thought they... I didn't know what to think.
"I am over here!" I call out. It was like I was talking to a wall. My voice practically echoed due to the silence. The shrill of my voice was the only thing in the crisp air.
I see in the corner of my eye, someone walking towards my way. Their footsteps made my ears cling on to the one sound. I look over to the direction of the sound. My eyes immediately go to the person's face. Daniel. His eyes met mine and he cursed.
"They didn't tell you, did they?" Daniel asks. His tone was powerful and sharp. I shake my head in response. This only made Daniel curse again.
"What happened?" I ask. I genuinely wanted to know. I wasted thirty minutes of my time sitting on a bench.
"Coach cancelled practice today." Daniel says. As soon as he finished his sentence, my mouth drops. "I thought you knew. We went out to Ryan's house and they didn't say much about you. All they said was you were coming."
"Well, considering I am sitting on this bench. I would take it as I didn't know and your teammates didn't notify me." I say sharply.
"I'm sorry." Daniel says as he rubs the back of his neck.
"Sorry, my ass." I commented under my breath.
"Hey, let me make it up to you." Daniel says. I raise my eyebrows in confusion. Daniel extends his hand, gesturing me to grab it. I only raise my eyebrows higher. Daniel rolls his eyes before walking closer to me. His hands grab the sides of my shoulders and walks me over to the parking lot.
"I didn't accept your offer, by the way. This is considered as kidnapping. I could scream or something." I say.
Daniel chuckles, "You wouldn't do that, baby girl." My feet freeze when he calls me that pen name. Daniel pushes me forward. My thoughts were out of this world. Why did he just call me that? There are over a million different pen names he could have chosen. Baby girl had to be the one he chose.
I sat in the passenger seat of his mercedes. Did I mention that even though this school was notorious for drugs and gangs. It was also notorious for the richest families in the city? Yeah, maybe I left that bit out.
I reach out for the radio button. My hand got slapped, I look over to Daniel and give him a look of confusion. "No one touches my baby." Daniel says.
"You got to be kidding me! You are one of those guys?" I accuse.
"If you needed to turn on the radio. You could have just asked me." Daniel says before pressing the radio button.
I make a face when My Chemical Romance fills the room. "What? Are you judging me?" Daniel fakely cries.
I shake my head, "No, I just wouldn't think you would be into this type of music."
Daniel turn to me and smirks, "Oh, I get it. You want this type of music." I look at him confused. He jabs a finger to one of the buttons. Heavy metal reaches my ears and I cover them. I open my eyes and see Daniel turning up the volume.
"No! I did not mean that!" I exclaim.
Daniel shrugs before turning it down. He smirks again and gives me a knowing look. I shake my head and plead him with my eyes. He jabs his finger on the third track. Eminem fills the car and I shrug. Daniel seemed flabbergasted that I didn't provide a reaction as I did before.
"Uh, summa lumma dooma lumma you assuming I'm a human. What I gotta do to get it through to you I'm superhuman. Innovative and I'm made of rubber, so that anything you say is. Ricochet in off a me and it'll glue to you. And I'm devastating more than ever demonstrating. How to give a motherfuckin' audience a feeling like it's levitating. Never fading, and I know that haters are forever waiting. For the day that they can say I fell off, they'll be celebrating. 'Cause I know the way to get 'em motivated. I make elevating music. You make elevator music. 'Oh, he's too mainstream.' " I rap with Enimen.
Daniel looks shocked, "Did you just curse?"
"You just think that, after I just rapped the whole entire... nevermind." I say.
"We're here." Daniel says. I look around at my surroundings. We are at a bowling place.
I smile sheepishly at him, "I am really bad at bowling."
We walk inside the bowling place. The place is booming with music and is flashing lights. "Shoe size?" The worker asks me.
"Size eight, please." I say.
The worker hands me the bowling shoes and asks Daniel what his shoe size was. I find out his shoe size was ten.
I grab a pink ball only for me to fall with it. Daniel laughs at me and points to the ball. "Its a 10 pound ball." I look down and see the number ten. I open my mouth in realization.
I take a six pound ball and walk towards the alley. Daniel rolls his eyes before taking the ball out of my hands and placing it back. "We have to put in our names."
I smirk as I put Dan as his name. He hates that name. He only raised his eyebrows as he walks towards the device. Daniel types in Char for my name.
I grab the pink ball again and get ready to throw the ball. I swing my arm and roll the ball towards the center. The pink ball only went two feet forwards before dropping into the gutters.
"You weren't kidding when you said you sucked." Daniel says behind me.
"Hey! I didn't say it that way!" I say, holding a hand up to my heart.
"Watch and learn, babes." Daniel says. I scowl at his pen name.
Daniel walks towards the alley with a black ball. He swings his arm before letting the ball go. I watch the ball run forwards into the middle pin. My mouth drops when all the pins dropped.
I pick up another ball and swing my arm. Daniel holds my wrist as his body was behind me. I could feel his breath on my neck. I try to pay attention to the ball.
"You do this." Daniel whispers in my ear.
My breath hitches as he swings my arm back. I let go of the ball and watch the ball roll to the end. The ball hits the pin and all of them fall.
"Thanks." I say, my voice not below a whisper.
The next two hours were filled with inappropriate jokes and Daniel winning. It was a fun day.
