I woke up to my phone buzzing off the hook. There were Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube notifications blowing up my lock screen.

I did not expect to become an overnight internet sensation. I didn't even expect it to happen within a year.

It was 2am, and I'd only posted the video four hours ago. I already had one million followers on Twitter, almost as many on Instagram, and I had 700,000 subscribers on YouTube. After four hours.

Halcyon was a hit. She did it all by herself. No one bought her fame. No one wrote the song for her. I couldn't have been more proud.

I flipped off notifications, and tried going back to sleep. It only worked for about two hours, because I kept waking up out of excitement. I kept keeping all of my social media and the numbers just kept going up.

What I didn't expect, actually I didn't think any of this would happen, but Tyler Oakley and Connor Franta tweeted me. Sure, I had famous friends, but I saw them all the time and been hanging out with them for years. I met Kylie and Kendall Jenner when Ky and I were 15, and I'm friends with them.

I'd been watching Connor and Tyler for years. I never met, but I always admired them for putting themselves out there when I never did.

@halcyon is beautiful and her song and voice are literally perfection.

That was Tyler's tweet to me. This was Connor's:

My new favorite song and YouTube artist is @halcyon hands down. And she only has the one song

I was speechless. I'd seen these boys through a screen for years and now they were contacting me.

It didn't stop there, Conor Maynard tweeted me minutes later.

Well.....this lovely lady blew up more than I had expected and she deserves every bit of it @halcyon

Like, what the frick? It hasn't even been twelve hours!

That's when it got crazy. And I mean, really crazy. Michael Clifford tweeted me. The boy that I fell in love with through his band's music. The boy that I never expected to say one word to.

@halcyon I recorded your song with a sound app and now it's my ringtone

I couldn't breath for a second. My celebrity crush, the guy I loved, was talking to me on Twitter. Not only that, but I was his ringtone

@Michael5sos your solo in San Fransisco is my ringtone so I guess we're even

Me: yeah

Me: yes, and I was planning on putting one up next week. You'll have to wait

Mikey: even little old me?

Me: yes, you and all of your hotness has to wait

Mikey: what if I let you listen to our new song that's coming out tomorrow? And I'll show you the video

Me: you'd never do that without asking and Girls Talk Boys comes out in less than 24 hours. I can wait a little bit

Mikey: I have a question for you

Mikey: 1- where do you live? 2-why Halcyon?

Me: I live in Beverly Hills and I chose the name Halcyon because the word means blissful and carefree. Right now in my life I'm so stressed and my music is my halcyon escape

Mikey: I'll see you at our concert in Inglewood then?

Me: yes, you will. My mom got me a soundcheck pass and a pit ticket cause my 19th birthday is September 8, the day after the concert. It's my present

Mikey: I'll sing you Happy Birthday

Me: I'm counting on it

Holy shit. I am now acquainted with Michael Clifford. And he wants to sing happy birthday to me. I've been in love with this boy for two years now, but now everything is different. He knows that I actually exist.
