Me: Michael Gordon Clifford
Mikerowave: yes, sweet cheeks?
Me: I've had an idea
Mikerowave: what idea?
Me: at the Forum you want to sing me happy birthday and are bringing me on stage
Mikerowave: MAYBE coming on stage, but yeah, you'll be turning 19 right?
Me: yes, but I was thinking that you guys might let me sing a few songs on stage. Maybe have my own set. I know three opening acts is a lot but I want to do some pop-up concerts all over Los Angeles. I was think you might be able to help me
Mikerowave: I'll see what I can do
Me: you're the best, Mike
Mikerowave: I know
I wanted to do something more than put up videos of me on YouTube. I wanted to do something. Pop-up concerts were a perfect idea. Gain a following, gain surprise, let people know that I'm not afraid to be in public. I'd only performed the once at the Teen Choice Awards, and it been a week since then. It's been a bit over a month since my video, and I was staying in the spotlight, but people were beginning to lose interest. I couldn't let it happen.
My first step was to take a break from my madness and watch my favorite tv show, the Late Late Show with James Corden.
Carpool Karaoke was my favorite bit, and I was rewatching the Michelle Obama one, dreaming of a chance to do something so fun.
"Olivia, what did you want to talk about earlier?" My mom sweetly asked as she stood in my doorway.
"I was thinking about moving into my own place. Somewhere in the city. I'm turning 19 soon and just want to be a bit more independent. I'm not gonna live here forever," I explained. I half expected her to refuse, just because I was her little girl and loved to live through me.
"Sure, sweetie," she answered. "Go online, find a place you want, we'll get it for you and you can go on your way. But I do expect you to visit and I will come over to say hi every once in a while."
"Thanks!" I cheered, running and hugging her.
"Just make sure whatever you pick for yourself is perfect. Nothing less for my baby girl."
"I will," I nodded, going back to my computer where I was already apartment hunting.
Two hours later I found the perfect apartment for me. It was in a complex that had a pool, a gym, and a garden on the roof.
"Mom?" I called down to her. "I've found one!"
She burst into my room with a smile and her disgusting juice cleanse drink.
"Let's see it, baby girl."
I turned my laptop towards her and scrolled through the pictures. It was open floor plan with two beds and two and a half baths. There was also a small terrace. There wasn't any furniture, which I loved, because it meant that I got to pick everything out.
"And you really like this one, Olivia?"
"I do. And I'll have to take a serious trip to Ikea to get everything, but I really like this."
"Consider it done. Email me that link and I will forward it to our realtor and you'll be living alone in no time," she smiled, squeezing my cheek.
As soon as she was gone from my bedroom I started to cry. It wasn't the fact that I was moving out or that I would miss this big house. It was that my mom was happy about me leaving. She encouraged it and didn't seem to care that her only child was going to be gone. It bothered the hell out of me.

The day after my mother practically broke my heart, I was lounging in bed when Michael texted me.
Mikerowave: I have news for you
Me: please tell me that it's good news
Mikerowave: you can't have a set at SLFL Inglewood they won't allow it
Me: aw poop☹️
Mikerowave: but you can sing a song with us. The four of us talked about it and feel bad that you can't perform a set, so we're gonna let you sing one of our songs with us.
Me: MICHAEL YOU ARE MY FAVORITE PERSON RIGHT NOW
Mikerowave: but we made a deal at Lollapalooza
Mikerowave: you have to show us your face, without the mask
Me: okay, but no pictures of me are to be taken without my mask
Mikerowave: you've got a deal
Me: you made my day so much better
Mikerowave: Casey says hello
Me: HI CASEY I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE YOU AGAIN IN A FEW WEEKS
Mikerowave: he says that he can't wait either
Mikerowave: is he your new best friend or something? What happened at that award show?
Me: Casey is the one that made me text you. Without him I don't think we'd be talking right now.
Mikerowave: I hope that's all
Me: awe, is somebody jealous of little old Casey
Mikerowave: yes, he got to talk to you for more than five minutes
Me: well I'll get to see you soon, right? When do you get to LA?
Mikerowave: August 10
Me: WEDNESDAY YAY
Mikerowave: Please tell me that when we hang out you won't have that thing on the whole time
Me: course not, silly. How will I walk around Ikea with a mask on and not look like a nut job?
Mikerowave: why are we going to Ikea?
Me: 1- meatballs are delicious. 2- I just got a new apartment and I need to buy furniture and decor
Mikerowave: is it completely empty?
Me: at this second, yes. I hope to be moving in Monday. I'll have a bed and bathrooms and a kitchen but that's about it.
Mikerowave: tomorrow is Monday, genius
Me: don't get sassy with me
Me: plus, Ikea is always a fun adventure
Mikerowave: I'll see you Wednesday then
Me: okay😊
Me: goodbye for now, sidekick
Mikerowave: until soon, mystery girl
"Olivia?" I heard my mom yell up to me, interrupting my dreams and fantasies of Michael and I.
"Yes?"
"That apartment is officially yours! You can move in tomorrow morning!" She called, and I could hear the big smile on her face.
