Chapter 2

Mrs. Premoli wasn't really freaky, just weird... we enter the class and the new boy with black hair is sitting in my seat.

I start to worry about where to sit and blush furiously. Breathe. I tell myself, don't worry.

I breathe slowly.

I walk to the back where a seat is available when someone puts their foot out and I stumble.

Summer laughs, not bothering to try to cover it. I glare at her, while she gives me an innocent look.
"Oops."

I calm myself, she was obviously just trying to get a reaction out of me.

"Are you okay?" Asks a worried male voice.
"Yeah, I'm fine." I manage to say.

Summer tries to look like she doesn't care that I am talking to the new boy, but fails miserably. She moves seats, some people are looking.

"Sorry, I didn't introduce myself. My name is Ezekiel. What's your name?" He introduces himself.

"I-i'm Cla-Clarissa," I say stumbling over the words.

I start to fiddle with the clay.

"Well, I see that you all have your clay in hand. We will be making a model of one of your friends. Remember... we need to make the clay come to life." Mrs. Premoli says in a reverent voice, breathing deeply.

Some people snicker.

She still thinks that clay has emotions, yesterday she said to Tristan 'be gentle with the clay it has feelings too, you know,' because he was mushing it up with his meaty hands.

I finally finish, glaring down at my clay in disgust.
I did a terrible job of making Nora, I made her look awful.

I say a silent sorry to her.

"Well done Ezekiel, who have you done?" Mrs. Premoli congratulates him, and everyone is now looking at Ezekiel.
Ezekiel has done a very detailed model of a boy I recognize.
"Chase, my friend." Replies Ezekiel.

Oh, that must be the other boy with brown hair I realise. Mrs. Premoli smiles, showing so many cavities that you wouldn't think was possible.

Finally, last break comes, and I start to walk out with my friends.

"Hey, do you want to sit with me?" Ezekiel asks. Cas stares at me, trying to get a message through with a scowl.

"Sorry, I'm sitting with my friends," I answer. Ezekiel looks a little crestfallen, and I immediately want to make up for it.

"If you want you can sit with me."
"Sure," Ezekiel smiles tentatively,
Cas glares at me, but I just shrug.

"No! I'm going to lose." He mutters, upset. I cast a confused glance his way, he smiles sadly.

"Do people call you Zeke?" Kristan asks.
"Yeah." He replies, smiling.

We walk to a bench in the cafeteria, eating in silence.
"I was wondering if you would like to go to the movies on the weekend with us?" Kristan asks Ezekiel suddenly. I don't remember her asking me if I could go to the cinemas with her.

"I can't, I'm going somewhere." I lie partly because I don't want to spend time with Ezekiel, and partly because it feels like she's pushing me into something, by the sour look on Cas's face.

"I'm sure you can make an exception in your busy weekend," Kristan emphasizes the word busy in a sulky tone.

Kristan turns to me so no one can see her face except for me, and makes her puppy face. No one, I mean NO ONE, can resist that face. I finally cave, not wanting to disappoint my friend.

Cas says he has to meet up with his cousin, before he walks out, Kristan looking triumphant.

"Can Chase come? He might bring Maya. If that's alright, he just doesn't want to miss out on anything..." Ezekiel trails off.
"We wouldn't mind," Krissy answers for me. I thought just me, Krissy and Ezekiel was horrible, but with Maya and Chase, well that was going to be living hell!

I groan.
"Living hell," I whisper, but I think Ezekiel heard because the corner of his mouth turned up in a smirk. I feel heat rising to my face. Calm down. Deep breaths, I remind myself.

I see that Maya is speaking animatedly to the large group who are watching intently, so I start to eat my soggy fries.

"Eww, hey Kristan, do you want my fries?" I ask, trying to sell her my fries.
"Nah, they look soggy."
I sigh, upset that she didn't take up my offer, and stand up to throw them out.

Maya walks over to me.
"Aren't you Clarissa?" She says in a sweet tone.

"Yeah," I reply.  A look of disgust mars her smooth face.

"Don't even think about Ezekiel. He's mine." She smiles viciously and walks away.

I blink, huh? I walk not so confidently back to my seat.
"What did she say?" Cassio asks excitedly.

"It's nothing to worry about," I whisper to him so no one will hear.
I finish up my food and we all walk to our last class.

*A/N*

Hey, so I don't have too much time on my hands for writing anymore so updates aren't going to be as often as I hoped. I'll update whenever I get the chance, but I will try to make the chapters longer than usual. Sorry this one is so short. Hope everyone likes the new chapter. See you next update
