Part 5

The ceremony is my far cousin's marriage reception. It's going to be tough for me because each and every person attending will be after the most hot gossip, that's me. And I can say that as everyone was staring at me and my baby from the time we have entered the ceremony. Even my baby can feel that.

"Mommy why is everyone staring at us?" she said hiding her face on Ayush's shoulder.

"Sweety they are just jealous of you that how come you are so cute." Ayush said consoling her.

"Really Ayu uncle ?" She asked him and looked towards me.

I just nodded my head saying yes and made my mind to face them atleast for my baby. I can't let anyone harm her. And I walked inside with my head held high.

And my family followed me with dad on my side.

On my way I heard a lot of whispers -
"Is it Avantika, Verma's daughter. She ran away right"

"Oh my god it's true she was pregnant."

"Is that girl Ayush holding is, HIS"

"Doesn't she have any shame!!"

"Even Vineeth has come to the ceremony right. Now this is going to be interesting."

All these comments didn't affect me but the one with the jerk's name and his relation to my daughter caught my attention. I just wanted to run from here away from everyone. But dad's words came to my mind, I'm going to face him. I'm not going to run this time.

"Don't listen to them sweetheart they mean nothing to you. We are there for you and Pia. Let them not know your weaknesses. They just want to break...." my dad was trying to encourage me.

I interrupted him "it's OK dad , you don't have to worry I'm a strong woman like you said before and I'm going to show them that I have changed for good"

"That's like my girl. I'm proud of you sweety." dad said smiling at me.

"We too." mom and Ayush said from behind.
And then joined my little girl "me too mommy folr whateverl glrandma is telling you."

We laughed for my baby's adorable reason.

Then everyone greeted my family and me, some with sympathetic and some with disgusted expressions. But I am used to it. Dad and Mom left to bless the newly married couple and here Ayush was not leaving my side, protective much my brother is.

"Ayu uncle I wanna eat ice cream, please can we have one?" Pia asked Ayush making a puppy dog face which she knows he can't resist.

"Come di let's go , Pia wants an ice cream." he literally was tagging me along with him.

"Ayush ice cream is right over there straight to where we are standing you can bring it in 5minutes . Why are you dragging me along with you? Just go have one and come over what's the big deal." I said frustrated. I know he's been protective but his protectiveness was getting a bit overboard.

"Its a big deal di, I don't want to leave you alone here for whole 5 minutes it's too risky." he said irritated because my baby was continuously nagging him.

"Ayu you want me to be strong right, I can manage don't worry just go and bring her ice cream and moreover you can see me from right over there" I said calmly pushing him.

He went and I just stood there watching him who was turning at every step he took to look at me. He is seriously impossible. Suddenly I felt someone bump into me, due the sudden impact I was about to fall but the floor never touched me and I felt cold hands over my waist. I looked up to see who they belong to and my eyes met beautiful dark black eyes, than I noticed his jawline, than his face, he is the most handsome guy I have ever met in my entire life. He was breathtaking. But a voice broke my trance and I hurriedly straightened myself and walked off towards the voice. It was my baby's voice, it brought me back to the reality that I'm a mother of a child and I should not have such thoughts.

"Mommy arle you OK ? Arle you hurlt ? Did that big gaint uncle hurlt you?" She said examining me.

"Hey di are you OK? What happened, I just turned around to have a look at you and saw that guy was holding you. Did he hurt you?" Ayush asked.

"Hey guys I'm good, see, don't panic I was just about to fall and he saved....." I was interrupted by the most intimidating voice.

"I'm sorry ma'am did I hurt you? Its my fault, I was talking on my phone. I didn't see you there and just bumped into you. I'm extremely sorry. My bad." He was looking at me straight in my eyes.

"No it's ok, I'm not hurt. Actually you saved me from falling. Thanks." I said .

"You saved mommy frlom getting hurlt thank you gaint uncle. " Pia said hiding behind me.

"You are welcome princess anything for someone like you. And I'm Siddharth Jaiswal not a giant. You can call me Sid." He said bending down to her level which was way difficult for him because he was 6 feet tall or more . Like my baby said he was literally a giant for short people like me and my baby. And his muscles were well built.

Seeing him bending towards her, my baby hid more behind me.

"Am I scaring her. If I'm then, I'm sorry." He said standing up and moving far away from me and my baby.

"No it's not your fault she is just shy towards new people." Ayush said because I was too involved in my thoughts that I missed hearing what he said. I just mentally thanked Ayush for rescuing me.

"Oh and you are?" Sid asked Ayush. 'Sid' like seriously Avi you have to stop this immediately. Think about other things. And he is Siddharth not Sid.

"I'm Ayush Verma and this is my sister Avantika and that's Pia her daughter" Ayu introduced us to him.

"Oh so your are Ram uncle's children. He talks a lot about you guys. I have just been posted in the city, I'm a cop." He said continuously stealing glances at me. Am I overthinking or is it my imagination that he's stealing glances at me. Why would he show any interest towards a woman with a 4 year old kid.

And again my thoughts came to an end with the most annoying voice shouting my name in the microphone. And this is the voice which I never wanted to hear again.

"Avantika Verma, I know you can hear me. Come to me, right here right now, I need to clear some things with you. And to confess something." Vineeth said.
