I heard my dad walk through the front door knowing he'd be coming up here so we could talk about what happened. I heard his footsteps as he entered my room.

"Katie, would you like to talk?" He asked as he came over and sat at the end of my bed.

"Dad it wasn't my fault!" I snapped already becoming defensive.

"I know."

"And I don't care what you say but-- wait what?" I said raising my eyebrows at him, did he just say I know?

"I know it wasn't your fault, I got a visit today from Calum." He said and my eyes went wide.

"Calum?" I asked and he nodded.

"Told me everything, even when he came over and saw you all bruised up." He explained. "I'm going to get a restraining order on him immediately." My dad said and I was surprised that he was saying all this. I wonder what all Calum said?

Calum

I didn't understand why Katie's father didn't understand that she was in fact telling the truth. I had to go confront him about it, I had to go to my dads work and talk to him about it.

I drove to my dads work and parked in the back, I locked my car and went in through the back with my card key I had to the building. Walking in I was greeted by everyone, my dad has been with this company since I was eight so everyone knew me. I walked into my dads office and asked him where Katie's dad was, he told me and I marched right over there.

"Sir I need to talk to you about Katie." I said boldly yet to my surprise I wasn't scared.

"Calum, welcome." He said as he set the phone down, "What about my daughter needs to be talked about?" He asked.

"It's unfair that you punish her for something that wasn't her fault. She was just protecting herself from Kyle who was beating her up because I hit him for being very rude to Katie and he thinks it's her fault so now he's like after her, and-"

"Calum." He said cutting me off.

"Sir I'm sorry but you have to listen to what I have to say. Katie didn't do anything wrong and you can't punish her for something that wasn't her fault and I will stand here and argue with you until you see that none of this is her fault." I said crossing my arms and standing there looking at him.

"I believe you Calum."

"And-- wait what?" I asked.

"I believe you, I will call the school and talk to them about it. Thank you for telling me." He said with a smile.

"You're welcome." I said smiling back. "How is she? She hasn't returned any of my calls or texts and I'm worried about her..."

"I turned her phone off so that she could only communicate to me, but I might reconsider that." He said.

"I'll let you get back to work, sorry for the interruption." I apologized.

"It's alright, I'll talk to Katie once I get home." He said and I left my dads work with a smile of accomplishment.

Katie

I was so shocked at the fact that Calum went to my dads work and talked to him about all of this. That, and my dad gave me my phone privileges back. I was currently on FaceTime with Calum.

"Thank you again for talking to my dad." I said for the almost thousandth time.

"Katie," he laughed, "You don't have to keep thanking me." He said with a smile.

"I know, but I still want to thank you for what you did." I said. "Oh I saw your friend Ashton today when I went to Starbucks." I blurted out.

"Yeah he told me he saw you, said he apologized for what he did." Calum said, I nodded.

"He seems really nice." I said with a smile.

"He is." He chuckled. "Are you coming back to school tomorrow?" He asked.

"Yeah, I have to talk to the principle though and give him the restraining order my dad put out." I said rolling my eyes not really wanting to go to school.

"I'll go in with you if you'd like?" He offered.

"I'd like that, I'd be too nervous." I said. We talked for two hours before we said goodnight and fell asleep.

I woke up and got dressed quickly unable to wait to see Calum, though it's been a day I just miss his presence. I went downstairs and grabbed a granola bar and juice box before I grabbed the restraining order and left the house with everything I needed.

I met up with Calum and gave him a big hug, everyone was looking at us but I didn't care. After our hug we made our way to the office so I could talk to the principle about everything. The lady at the front desk who's name I forgot allowed us to go back to his office and take a seat. Once he arrived I began the conversation.

"So my dad called this morning, well at least that's what he told me and-"

"I know Katie, and you're not in trouble. I told all your teachers you are exempt from any work you missed. We have a anti-bully policy here and it will not be tolerated, I've spoken to Kyle's parents who will come in to speak with me about his punishments. That, and, I will need the restraining order to give to his parents." Mr. Marlin said. I just sat there trying to receive all the information he just gave me, either that or I was trying to focus really hard on what he said since I'm tired.

I reached into my backpack and handed him the restraining order. He set it down next to him, "So was this it?" I asked not knowing if that was our cue to go to class or not.

"Yup, everything will be taken care of." He smiled as he stood up, "Now you two get to class." He said as he wrote us late passes while Calum and I walked out of the office and headed to class.
