I left the school and made my way home, though I wasn't as angry as I thought I'd be, I was proud of myself for sticking up to Kyle. Then again that did land me in trouble but maybe my dad will understand when I tell him the whole story.

Then again I haven't really been on my dads good side since we moved here, he probably won't want to hear what I have to say. At times like this is when I wish I had my mom, she'd understand why I'm acting out and tell me we'd get through it together.

I finally got home and unlocked the door, I set my bookbag down on the floor and headed upstairs to my room. I flopped onto my bed as my phone rang, I feared it was my dad but it was exactly the opposite. It was Calum.

I clicked answer on FaceTime and saw his face pop up with a grin, "So you got suspended?" He asked and I rolled my eyes at him.

"Yes, but I don't see why when I was defending myself like you told me I should've." I argued with a pout.

"Whoa, I didn't tell you to go ahead and fight him, I meant stick up for yourself. Not get in trouble." He said.

"That's exactly what I did, I stuck up for myself!" I defended.

"I know but-"

"Mr. Hood," I heard his name being called by a teacher. This dumbass is FaceTiming me in class. "Is there something on your phone that's more interesting than my lesson?" The teacher asked.

Calum looked down at me and grind.

He wouldn't.

"Yeah." He admitted to the teacher.

He would.

"Phone on my desk please." The teacher said in a kind yet irritating tone.

"But you don't pay my phone bill." Calum said in a smartass tone.

"Calum!" I snapped at him, he looked down at his phone and rose his eyebrows. "You can call me later when you're not in class." I said before I hung up on him knowing he wouldn't have.

I sighed and sprawled out on my bed, I turned my tv on to watch some Netflix until my dad got home.

-

"Katherine, downstairs now." I heard my name being snapped, boy was he in a bad mood. I walked down the stairs and saw my dad standing there with his hands on his hips.

I looked at him shyly, "So---how was your day?" I asked cautiously. He didn't seem amused as he began to glare at me.

"I am very disappointed in you young lady, you got in a fight?!" He shouted throwing his arms up in disbelief.

"Yes but-"

"No butt's, Katie I don't know what to do with you anymore you've been acting out ever since we moved here and Calum-"

"Dad if you'd just listen-"

"This, this was a bad idea to move here." My dad said cutting me off for the second time. "We're going back to Florida." He said and my eyes went wide.

"I don't want to move back there I like it here!" I shouted. "Just listen to what I have to say dad, please." I begged.

"I don't want excuses as to why you got into a fight young lady-"

"Will you just listen to me!" I shouted causing him to go wide eyed at my outburst. I wasn't going to let him talk over me again so I began to explain myself, "Calum got suspended for defending me and the guy got mad and beat me up, I didn't tell you because I thought I could handle it on my own, but then Michael and I went out last night-"

"You what?" My dad asked angrily.

"Questions at the end dad," I said quickly. "We went to the guys house and messed with his car, dyed his hair-"

"You know you could've gotten arrested for vandalism right?" My dad asked and I rolled my eyes.

"Anyways," I groaned, "Then at school today he tried to beat me up again and Calum told me to defend myself so I did and the vice principle saw it and I got in trouble when he slammed me up against the locker first." I said taking a deep breath.

"Are you finished?" He asked.

"Yes."

"Well, you defended yourself and that's good but two wrongs don't make a right." He said, was he trying to lecture me right now? "But that doesn't mean you won't go unpunished by me." He said.

"But I told you what happened, I don't get a warning since I've never done this before ever? Or even sympathy for getting beat up!" I shouted.

"Sweetheart, I am very concerned you got beat up which we will be bringing up to your principle. But you're grounded for a month." He said and my mouth dropped.

"But dad-"

"No tv, no phone, no laptop, no friends, no Calum." He said, he's basically taking my entire life away.

"What am I suppose to do when I'm home all day?" I asked, "Actually go outside and enjoy fresh air?" I questioned.

"Might as well." He chuckled but I didn't find it too funny.

"This is what I get for defending myself?" I asked.

"No, this is for getting in trouble when all you had to do was talk to your principle about you getting beat up and let him handle it." My dad said crossing his arms.

"Yeah dad because it's real easy to get out of a choke hold and alert an adult while I'm dying from the lack of oxygen." I said rolling my eyes.

"Katie." He groaned.

"Sorry..." I sighed as I went to head upstairs and my dad stopped me.

"Phone and laptop please." He said, I groaned and went upstairs grabbing both of my electronics and handing it to him. I went upstairs slamming my door angry at how I'm the one in trouble for simply defending myself.
