Eighteen

I woke up earlier than Niall whom seemed to be fast asleep. I heard a phone ding signaling a notification. I looked over to see Niall's phone flash up with a new message. Should I?

I know it was very wrong of me but, I grabbed his phone anyways. I looked to see a familiar name pop up.

From Sofia:
So, when are you going to come over? x

I held up my hand to my mouth in shock. Is he cheating on me? Is he using me? Why must everything always happen to me?

I held back a sob as I felt Niall stir beside me. "Mornin' ." He said and went to kiss my lips but I turned my cheek. I had my arms crossed over my chest and glared angrily at him.

"What's wrong, babe?" He asked sitting up on the bed. I pointed at his phone and shoved it into his lap. He pocked it up and his eyes widened.

"Baby it-" He said getting cut off by my frustrated being.

"Don't baby me. Stop using the typical, "Its not what it looks like" excuse. I'm sick of it. Are you cheating on me?" I said throwing up my hands to emphasize how irritated I am right now.

"No. Let me explain, please." He pleaded and grabbed my hips pulling me towards him. I motioned for him to explain by making a hand gesture.

"This is my secret that only the boys know and now you will. She was the reason I was so depressed. When One Direction had recently formed, we had many fans dying to meet us. Sofia was one of them and I thought 'wow she is beautiful.' So, when she went to our meet and greet, I asked her for her number and things went on from there." Niall explained before sighing and closing his eyes.

"Everything was going great. At least, I thought so. Little did I know, she hooked up with one of my best mates while I was dating her. I came to find this out two years after dating. She used me, Lauren. She used me to get to my best mate." He started getting teary eyed before continuing.

"That's when I broke things off. She didn't seem affected at all. In fact, she ran to my best mate. So, that's when I started becoming the bad boy of the group. I started getting tattoos, going to clubs, I used alcohol and drugs to numb the pain. But, it just didn't go away. That was until I met you. I will never forget the minute we started talking to each other. I felt like could move on. And here I am." He said finishing off and kissed my temple tenderly.

"Niall, I'm honestly speechless. I had no idea what you went through. I'm glad you told me. But, why is she so close to you now?" I asked curiously. I let my mind wander off just imagining everything that Niall went through. I felt so bad for assuming things.

"Well, after a while. Rumor was that she moved on and she found a liking in me once again. She thought this bad boy look was attractive. But, I wouldn't let her in. And she went to her very extent on trying to get back with me. She became obsessed with me. I tried to tell her I wanted to be friends and she agreed to it under one condition." He explained and gulped as he said the last sentence.

"What was the condition?" I asked.

"I can't tell you that. I'm protecting you by not telling you. Do you trust me?" He said shaking his head and looking hopeful when he said the last part.

"Yes, I believe you. Now let's go somewhere and have fun." I said and hugged his side. He nodded and got into his shower as I did the same in mine.

Niall's P.O.V.

I can't believe it. I actually told her. I feel so relieved after telling her. Like the fact that I told her really felt like a ton of weight lifted off my shoulder. I planned on taking her out for lunch and walking around the city.

When we got dressed, we headed to grab lunch first. We settled down for sandwiches. They were so tasty, I ended up eating three sandwiches. Lauren looked so cute eating. She honestly did not care whatsoever who was watching her eat.

We walked hand in hand down to the park when we heard shouting coming from a nearby alley. Lauren dragged me behind her as we went to the direction of the commotion. I watched Lauren's eyes widen in surprise.

"M-marcel?" She asked with shock lacing her voice.
