(This will be sort of a recap but in
Niall's perspective.)

Niall's P.O.V.
"Oh come on, don't you want to have a little fun?" The brunette wiggled her eyebrows teasingly and purred softly at me.

Why am I doing this? Oh right, it's been a year since the breakup and I try to forget about her by destroying myself every night. I sighed and gave into my little act.

"You know what, I'm going to make things right. Fix things and get it to be how they used to be." I said standing up and pushing the brunette away from me gently.

"She's old news, Blondie. You've got me now." She taunted trailing her fingers up and down my arm teasingly.

"No, I love her and the only person stopping me this whole time from winning her back was myself." I responded back at her and shoved her clothes into her hands. I pushed her out of the house slamming the door in her face before she could protest.

I went to fix myself up a bit. I was set out to find her desperately. I can't stand watching her be with a man that brings a smile on her face. I can't stand not being a reason to be her smile everyday or be her daily thoughts.

She's on my mind everyday. I long for her but, I'm glad I've grown a pair after so long. I looked at myself in te mirror and shook my head. I'm not the same person I was a year ago. Lauren changed me when we were dating. When she cut things off, a switch inside of me flipped and turned me into the fool I am today.

I splashed water in my face and grabbed my phone heading out the door. I think I may have an idea on where Lauren is. Marcel was talking about how he wanted to plan something "special" for their anniversary today. Pfft, I'd make everyday special for Lauren not just on occasion.

I searched endlessly throughout the streets for my princess. The air was starting to get chilly and smoke started coming out of my nose when I exhaled. My phone kept blowing up with texts and calls from the boys so, I just turned it on silent.

I heard cries for help coming from a alley near a restaurant. I ran past pedestrians currently busy staring at their phone screen not even bothering to watch where they step.

The further I ran, the louder the pleading screams were heard. The seconds seemed to pass by quicker when I saw the sight in front of me. Lauren with a gun being held up to her temple by a man who was about to molest her.

I noticed her slowly curl up into a ball as tears streamed down her beautiful face. He touched Lauren. He is so going to get it. I punched the guy square in the nose and started beating the loving daylights out of the guy.

I stood up leaving the guy unconscious surrounded by his blood and picked Lauren up. I stuffed my face in her hair and began thinking of what damage could've happened to my princess if I hadn't came in time.

"Niall, you saved me." She hoarsely whispered making me lift my head up out of her hair.

"I promised to protect you, didn't I?" I lightly smiled and kissed her temple.

"Thank you." She responded gratefully.

"Lauren, I love you. I love you so much. I'm in love with you." I cried out and held her closer to my chest.

"Niall, I love you too. So much." She replied back at me and made a smile grow on my face. I kissed her cheek and lifted her up. I carried her back all the way to the house and placed her on my bathroom sink.

"Let's get you cleaned up, yeah?" I said pulling out a first aid kit. I applied some alcohol on areas that were bleeding and kissed every injury.

"I'm all better now." She said giggling lightly.

I placed her on my bed and kissed her  temple. "Goodnight, princess." I said turning off the light and heading out the door. I can't believe I saved her. I'm so glad I managed to get on speaking terms like before.

~Next Morning~

Lauren was next to me and tapping her foot on the floor lightly to the beat of a song as I tapped my fingers lightly against the couch. "I missed you." She said not looking up from the hard stare at the floor.

"I missed you even more." I said as the cage of caterpillars bloomed out from their cocoon into a beautiful cage of butterflies ready to burst in any second. The decaying butterflies at the bottom of the cage seemed to vanish leaving me restored and replenished with new feelings.

"How about we hang out, like the old times?" I offered her giving a small smile. I watched her the corners of her lips curve up into a smile.

"I'd love that." She said giving me that beautiful smile I've come to admire and adore everyday.
